The 6th Mirchi Music Awards, presented by the Radio Mirchi, honoured the best of Hindi music from the year 2013. The ceremony was held on 27 February 2014 and was hosted by Sonu Nigam. There were many performances, including those by Sunidhi Chauhan, Arijit Singh, Ankit Tiwari and Mika Singh, who gave a tribute to R. D. Burman for his 75th birth anniversary. [1] Aashiqui 2 won a leading eight awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Tum Hi Ho".

Javed Akhtar Indian poet, lyricist, and scriptwriter

Javed Akhtar is an Indian political activist, poet, lyricist and screenwriter. He is originally from the Gwalior area. He is a recipient of the Padma Shri (1999), Padma Bhushan (2007), the Sahitya Akademi Award as well as five National Film Awards. In the early part of his career, he was a screenplay writer, creating films such as Deewar, Zanjeer and Sholay. Later, he left screenplay-writing and became a lyricist and social-political activist. He also remained a member of Rajya Sabha. In 2020, he received the Richard Dawkins Award for his contribution to secularism, free thinking, for critical thinking, holding religious dogma up to scrutiny, advancing human progress and humanist values. Screen Awards Award

The Screen Awards is an annual awards ceremony held in India honouring professional excellence in Bollywood. The nomination and award selection is done by a panel of distinguished professionals from the industry. The awards were introduced by the Screen film magazine of The Indian Express Group in 1995. The magazine was acquired by Star India in 2015 and subsequently closed down. Though Star India continues to sponsor the awards under the Star Screen Awards title.

Mirchi Music Awards

Mirchi Music Awards are presented annually by Radio Mirchi to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Hindi language film music industry of India. The awards, given in seventeen different categories, were instituted to award the best of 2008. In 2010, the Southern edition of the awards – Mirchi Music Awards South was launched,to award the best of 2009. through which artists from the four South Indian film industries—Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam—are being honoured. In 2012, the Bengali edition of the awards – Mirchi Music Awards Bangla was launched, to award the best of 2011. The 2019 Mirchi Music Awards is co-powered by Smule, the world's largest music social network, and will have the winner of the Smule Mirchi Cover Star perform on stage at this prestigious event.

"Kal Ho Naa Ho" is a 2003 Hindi-language filmi song performed by Sonu Nigam for the 2003 Indian romantic drama film of the same name. The track was composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, while lyrics were written by Javed Akhtar. In a pathos version, Nigam is joined by Alka Yagnik and Richa Sharma. Kal Ho Naa Ho was directed by Nikhil Advani and written by Karan Johar; the latter co-produced it with his father Yash Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions. The music video of "Kal Ho Naa Ho" features leads Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta; the former sings about life's unpredictability and wistfully watches the others romance.

Sandeep Nath

Sandeep Nath is Singer, Lyricist, Composer, Screenwriter, Director and Producer in Bollywood.His Sufi song "Rangrez" is full of philosophy. He started his literary career as a poet and singer at the age of eighteen. He has completed more than two books as namely "Mujhko Kuch Bhi Naam Doh", "Darpan Ab Bhi Andha Hai". His poetries have been selected in "Kabita Parabasey" an anthology of Bengali poems written by the poets from outside Bengal and published by Bangiya Maitri Samiti Mumbai. He is closely associated with India's fastest growing poetry group "Poets Corner Group" & "Delhi Poetry Festival". One of his poem was featured in Musings : A Mosaic. "Tum Hi Ho" is a song from the Indian movie Aashiqui 2, sung by Arijit Singh and composed and written by Mithoon. Picturised on Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, it was released by Bhushan Kumar under T-Series, it became popular remaining in the top 10 of Planet Bollywood for eight weeks and capturing the first spot on the Top 20 of MTV India for seven weeks.

Sunny M.R.

Sunny M.R. is an Indian composer, Music Producer, Sound Engineer and Playback Singer. He is best known for the Telugu film Swamy Ra Ra (2013),Uyyala Jampala (2013). Musicperk.com rated the album 8/10, quoting "A fresh waft of cool music! Experimental Magic with simplicity". He won Global Indian Music Award, Mirchi Music Award for Bollywood movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) as "Best Music Arranger cum Programmer" and " Song Programmer cum Arranger of the Year " in 2014.

The Mirchi Music Award for Lyricist of The Year is given yearly by Radio Mirchi as a part of its annual Mirchi Music Awards for Hindi films, to recognise a lyricist who has delivered an outstanding performance in a film song.

The 10th Mirchi Music Awards, presented by the Radio Mirchi, honoured the best music professionals of Hindi language Indian films of 2017. The ceremony was held on 28 January 2018 at the Dome @ National Sports Club of India, Mumbai and was hosted by Sonu Nigam. There were many performances, including those by Shreya Ghoshal, Ayushmann Khurrana, Javed Ali, Harshdeep Kaur and Neha Bhasin. A musical tribute was given to A. R. Rahman for completing his 25 years in the Indian cinema. Jab Harry Met Sejal won a leading five awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Hawayein". The show was broadcast on 18 March 2018 on Zee TV.

The 9th Mirchi Music Awards, presented by the Radio Mirchi, honoured the best of Hindi music from the year 2016. The ceremony was held on 18 February 2017 at the Dome @ National Sports Club of India, Mumbai and was hosted by Sonu Nigam. There were many performances, including those by Amit Trivedi, Papon, Badshah, Armaan Malik, Sukhwinder Singh, Jubin Nautiyal, Shalmali Kholgade, Neeti Mohan, Neha Bhasin. It was the first time that the ceremony was open to the public. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil won a leading five awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Channa Mereya". The show was broadcast on 19 March 2017 on Zee TV.

The 8th Mirchi Music Awards, presented by the Radio Mirchi, honoured the best of Hindi music from the year 2015. The ceremony was held on 29 February 2016 at the Yash Raj Studios, Mumbai and was hosted by Sonu Nigam. There were many performances, including those by Mika Singh, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Amaal Mallik, Palak Muchhal and Badshah. Bajirao Mastani won a leading seven awards including Album of the Year. Song of the Year went to "Gerua" from Dilwale. The show was broadcast on 13 March 2016 on Zee TV.

The 7th Mirchi Music Awards, presented by the Radio Mirchi, honoured the best of Hindi music from the year 2014. The ceremony was held on 26 February 2015 at the Yash Raj Studios, Mumbai and was hosted by Aditya Narayan and Karishma Tanna. There were many performances, including those by Palak Muchhal, Usha Uthup, Benny Dayal, Shankar Mahadevan and Shruti Pathak. CityLights won a leading three awards. 2 States was awarded the Album of the Year, while "Zehnaseeb" from Hasee Toh Phasee won Song of the Year award. The show was broadcast on 22 March 2015 on Zee TV.

The 5th Mirchi Music Awards, presented by the Radio Mirchi, honoured the best of Hindi music from the year 2012. The ceremony was held on 7 February 2013 and was hosted by Ayushmann Khurana and Meiyang Chang. Agneepath won a leading seven awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin". The show was broadcast on 3 March 2013 on Colors.

The Mirchi Music Award for Upcoming Music Composer of The Year is given yearly by Radio Mirchi as a part of its annual Mirchi Music Awards for Hindi films, to recognise an upcoming music director who has delivered an outstanding performance in a film song. The award ceremony was started in 2008 to honour the best of Hindi film music. Dhruv Ghanekar was the winner in that award ceremony for the film Drona. As of the 2018 ceremony, Niladri Kumar is the most recent winner in this category for the song "Aahista" from the film Laila Majnu.

The 4th Mirchi Music Awards, presented by the Radio Mirchi, honoured the best of Hindi music from the year 2011. The ceremony was held on 21 March 2012 at the Bhavan’s College Ground (Andheri), Mumbai and was hosted by Shaan and Usha Uthup. There were many performances, including those by Saif Ali Khan, Parikrama, Shreya Ghoshal, Bappi Lahiri and Mika Singh. There was a live jugalbandi featuring Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, Lalit Pandit, Salim–Sulaiman, Ram Sampath, Sajid–Wajid and Leslie Lewis. Ash King, Harshdeep Kaur, Neha Bhasin, Anushka Manchanda, Tochi Raina, Shweta Pandit, Dominique and Clinton Cerejo, Kamal Khan, Suman Shridhar, Shefali Alvares, Benny Dayal and Ritu Pathak also performed during the award show. Rockstar won a leading five awards including Album of the Year. Song of the Year went to "Senorita" from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The show was broadcast on 31 March 2012 on Colors.

The Mirchi Music Award for Upcoming Lyricist of The Year is given yearly by Radio Mirchi as a part of its annual Mirchi Music Awards for Hindi films, to recognise an upcoming lyricist for contributing in a film song. The award ceremony was started in 2008 to honour the best of Hindi film music. Ashok Mishra was the winner in that award ceremony for the film Welcome to Sajjanpur. As of the 2018 ceremony, Prateek Kuhad is the most recent winner in this category for the song "Kadam" from the film Karwaan.

The 3rd Mirchi Music Awards, presented by Radio Mirchi, honored the best of Hindi music from the year 2010. The ceremony was held on 27 January 2011 at the Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, and was hosted by Shaan and Sonu Nigam. The program featured many performances, including those by Bappi Lahiri, Usha Uthup, DJ Lloyd, Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma, Rishi Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. Several award categories were introduced for the first time, including Best Indipop Song, Best Item Number, Best Raag Inspired Song, Best song in Sufi Tradition, and Best Album of Golden Era. Dabangg won a leading eight awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Munni Badnaam".

The 11th Mirchi Music Awards, presented by Indian FM radio station Radio Mirchi, honoured the best music professionals of Hindi language Indian films of 2018. The ceremony was held at the Dome at the National Sports Club of India, Mumbai on 16 February 2019 and was hosted by Indian singer and actor Sonu Nigam. The event included live music performances by Badshah, Neha Kakkar, Meet Bros, Jonita Gandhi, Arko, Papon, Shivam Pathak, and Ashmik Patil, the winner of the Smule Mirchi Cover Star. A new award category, "Recreated Song of the Year," was introduced to recognize the many ‘re-creations’ released in 2018. Padmaavat won several awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Ghoomar." The show was broadcast on 17 March 2019 on Zee TV.

The 2nd Mirchi Music Awards, presented by the Radio Mirchi, honoured the best of Hindi music from the year 2009. The ceremony was held on 10 February 2010 at the Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. There were many performances, including those by KK, Sunidhi Chauhan, Rekha Bhardwaj, Himesh Reshammiya, Usha Uthup, Shahid Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. A non-film category award was included for the first time. Delhi-6 won a leading eight awards including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "Masakali". The show was broadcast on 21 February 2010 on Sony TV.

The 1st Mirchi Music Awards, presented by the Radio Mirchi, honoured the best of Hindi music from the year 2008. The ceremony was held on 28 March 2009 at the Hotel Taj Lands End, Bandra, Mumbai and was hosted by Shaan and Tulip Joshi. There were many performances, including those by Dominique Cerejo, Benny Dayal, Manohari Singh, Bipasha Basu, Shreya Ghoshal, Genelia D'Souza, Kunal Ganjawala, Shahid Kapoor and Prachi Shah, the winner of the Tata Indicom Talent Hunt. Awards were given out in 17 different categories. Jodhaa Akbar won a leading seven awards including Song of the Year. Album of the Year was won by film Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na. The show was broadcast on 12 April 2009 on StarPlus.
