Tarun Majumdar was an Indian film director, documentary filmmaker, author, illustrator and screenwriter who is known for his work in Bengali cinema. Tapan Sinha was one of the most prominent Indian film directors of his time forming a legendary quartet with Satyajit Ray, Ritwik Ghatak and Mrinal Sen. He was primarily a Bengali filmmaker who worked both in Hindi cinema and Bengali cinema, directing films like Kabuliwala (1957), Louha-Kapat, Sagina Mahato (1970), Apanjan (1968), Kshudhita Pashan and children's film Safed Haathi (1978) and Aaj Ka Robinhood. Sinha started his career in 1946, as a sound engineer with New Theatres film production house in Kolkata, then in 1950 left for England where he worked at Pinewood Studios for next two years, before returning home to start his six decade long career in Indian cinema, making films in Bengali, Hindi and Oriya languages, straddling genres from social realism, family drama, labor rights, to children's fantasy films. He was one of the acclaimed filmmakers of Parallel Cinema movement of India.

Aashiqui 2 is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language romantic musical drama film directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under the Vishesh Films and T-Series Films, with Mahesh Bhatt serving as presenter. A spiritual successor to the 1990 musical film Aashiqui, the film stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, with Shaad Randhawa and Mahesh Thakur in supporting roles, as well as Salil Acharya in a cameo appearance. Apanjan is a 1968 Bengali film directed by Tapan Sinha. Set against the backdrop of the political violence that rocked India, and West Bengal in particular, in the late 1960s, it tells the story of an aged widow in a village who goes to Calcutta to stay with relatives, but faces only exploitation. She moves to a slum, and finds her "own people" in a group of educated, unemployed youth, who are caught up inexorably in the prevalent violence. The film was a commercial success, and also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali, as well as several BFJA Awards. In 1971, it was remade in Hindi as Mere Apne by Gulzar and in 1984, in Kannada as Benki Birugali.
Ajitesh Bandopadhyay was an Indian actor, playwright, activist and director. He along with Shambhu Mitra and Utpal Dutt are considered to be the doyens of Bengali theatre of the post - Independence era.
Jatugriha is a 1964 Bengali social drama film directed by Tapan Sinha and produced by Uttam Kumar based on the novel of the same name by Subodh Ghosh. The film was produced and released on 20 March 1964 under the banner of Uttam Kumar Films Private Limited. The music of the film composed by the legendary Ashish Khan. This was the fifth film produced by Uttam Kumar. A 1987 Bollywood film Ijaazat, directed by Gulzar, follows a similar plot. The film stars Uttam Kumar, Arundhati Devi, Anil Chatterjee and Bikash Roy.

Tumii Je Amar Maa is an Indian Bengali drama television series which premiered on 6 June 2022 on Colors Bangla and digital platform Voot. The series is produced by Snigdha Basu and Sani Ghose Ray under the banner of Acropoliis Entertainment. It stars Priya Mondal, Suman Dey and Aradhaya Biswas.
