Abington Township was formed in 1837. [4]

Geography

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 21.17 square miles (54.8 km2), of which 21.07 square miles (54.6 km2) (or 99.53%) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) (or 0.47%) is water. [3] Lakes in this township include Elkhorn Lakes. The streams of Elkhorn Creek, Locust Creek and Smith Creek run through this township.
