Torres is the first swimmer to represent the United States in five Olympic Games, and at age 41, the oldest swimmer to earn a place on the U.S. Olympic team. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, she competed in the 50-meter freestyle, 4×100-meter medley relay, and 4×100-meter freestyle relay, and won silver medals in all three events.

Following her remarkable performance at the Olympics, Chan granted a full scholarship to the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, where she trained with the college swimming team for 18 months. In 2007, Chan returned to Hong Kong to pursue her education with a bachelor's degree in economics and finance at the University of Hong Kong, while she trained with the national team in preparation for the Olympics. She qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and competed for the second time in women's 50 m freestyle. She swam in the seventh heat of the competition, with a time of 26.54 seconds, bettering her personal best from the previous Olympics, but finishing only in forty-fourth place.
Dashtserengiin Saintsetseg is a Mongolian swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. Dashtseren represented Mongolia at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and competed for the women's 50 m freestyle event. She swam in the fourth heat of the competition, finishing in fifth place, with a time of 29.63 seconds. Dashtseren, however, failed to advance into the semi-finals, as she placed sixty-seventh in the overall rankings.

She represented her nation Croatia at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and has won a silver medal in the 50 m butterfly (27.48) at the 2007 European Junior Swimming Championships in Antwerp, Belgium. Babok was a member of the SMU Mustangs swimming and diving team, and a graduate of sports management at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

Chua also attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she majored in international development studies and swam for the UCLA Bruins, under head coach Cyndi Gallagher.
Fariha Fathimath is a Maldivian former swimmer, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. Fathimath competed for the Maldives, as a 13-year-old, in the women's 50 m freestyle at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. She received a ticket from FINA, under a Universality program, in an entry time of 34.66. She challenged six other swimmers in heat two, including Cambodia's two-time Olympian Hem Raksmey. Braving against the deep waters of an Olympic-size pool, Fathimath fought off a sprint battle from Raksmey to grab a sixth seed in a new Maldivian record of 32.36 and cut off her entry standard by more than two seconds. Fathimath's best effort was not enough to put her through to the semifinals, as she placed sixty-ninth overall in the prelims.
Emma Jennifer McKeon, is an Australian competitive swimmer. She is an eight-time world record holder, three current and five former, in relays. Her total career haul of 11 Olympic medals following the 2020 Olympic Games made her Australia's most decorated Olympian and included one gold medal from the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and four gold medals from the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. With four gold and three bronze medals she was the most decorated athlete across all sports at the 2020 Summer Olympics, and tied for the most medals won by a woman in a single Olympic Games. She has also won 20 medals, including five gold medals, at the World Aquatics Championships; and a record 20 medals, including 14 gold, at the Commonwealth Games.
Johanna Umurungi is a Rwandan swimmer who specialises in the 50 metre butterfly and the 100 metre butterfly. Umurungi was the only female swimmer representing Rwanda at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where she competed in the 100 metre butterfly. She has also competed in three World Championships and a World Short Course Championship.
