Air Dravida was an airline project [1] based in Chennai, India, promoted by Premier Tours & Travels and Zircon International, a construction company with business interests in Malaysia and Singapore. [2] The company intended to commence operations in October 2006 [2] within southern India using a fleet of Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft [3] but never completed its establishing process and was shut down in the same year. [1]

Air Dravida's parent company, Premier Tours And Travels (Chennai) Ltd was founded in 1982. In 2004, they planned to start an airline division. The company announced they were waiting for approvals from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to commence operations with a fleet of four CRJ 200 aircraft to connect the cities of Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Madurai and Trivandrum with hubs at Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Jazz (airline) regional airline in Canada

Jazz Aviation LP, commonly shortened to Jazz, is a Canadian regional airline based at Halifax Stanfield International Airport in Enfield, Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Chorus Aviation. Jazz Aviation provides regional and charter airline services in Canada and the United States, primarily under contract to Air Canada using the brand name Air Canada Express, and also as Jazz Charters.

Private airlines were given permission to operate charter and non-scheduled services under the ‘Air Taxi’ Scheme. East West Airlines was the first national level private airline in India to operate after almost 37 years.

Kingfisher Airlines Limited was an airline group based in India. Through its parent company United Breweries Group, it had a 50% stake in low-cost carrier Kingfisher Red.

FitsAir Sri Lankan Airline

FITS Aviation (Pvt) Limited, DBA FitsAir, is a Sri Lankan airline. It operates scheduled passenger service within Sri Lanka, as well as international cargo flights to several cities in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa and also operates charter flights to India as well.

ModiLuft was a private airline based in Delhi, India. It operated on domestic routes until it shut down in 1996. It maintained high standards in flight safety, ground maintenance and on-time performance owing to support from Lufthansa AG. ModiLuft's aircraft were configured in First, Business and an Economy Class making it the only private airline in India during its time to fly a three class configuration on domestic routes. It used Boeing 737-200 aircraft leased from Lufthansa and had an incident free track record of flying.

IndiGo Indian low-cost airline

IndiGo is an Indian low-cost airline headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana. It is the largest airline in India by passengers carried and fleet size, with a 47.5% domestic market share as of November 2019. It is also the largest individual Asian low-cost carrier in terms of jet fleet size and passengers carried, and the sixth largest carrier in Asia with over 64 million passengers carried in financial year 2018–19. The airline operates 1500 flights everyday to 87 destinations – 63 domestic and 24 international. It has its primary hub at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.

Deccan Charters Indian aviation company

Deccan Charters is an aviation company based in Bengaluru, India that operates helicopter and fixed-wing charter services. Its main base is HAL Bangalore International Airport. Deccan Technical Services, the maintenance unit of Deccan Charters, maintains helicopters on behalf of 50 Indian corporates such as Reliance Industries and Essar Group. Their Mumbai centre is the authorised customer service centre to support Sikorsky S-76 helicopters. In March 2017, the firm bagged 21 regional air routes under the Indian Government's regional connectivity scheme, UDAN.

Indus Air was a regional domestic airline based in Ghaziabad, India. Its main base was Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.

Arik Air is a Nigerian airline operating mainly from two hubs at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. Arik Air's head office is the Arik Air Aviation Center on the grounds of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja. Arik Air serves a network of regional and mid-haul destinations within Africa.

Sri Sathya Sai Airport airport in India

Sri Sathya Sai Airport is located at Puttaparthi in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. The airport is named after Sathya Sai Baba, a spiritual guru and philanthropist. It is a small airport with facilities for chartered flights rather than commercial aircraft. The airport was inaugurated in 1990 to serve the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences during emergency situations. The airport's 1000-metre-long airstrip and terminal building were constructed by L&T ECC. The runway was later extended to enable the operation of larger jet aircraft.

Air India Cargo was a cargo airline, it was the freight carrying subsidiary of Air India, based in Mumbai. It operated freighter aircraft services off and on at different stages of its history, the latest being from 2006 to 2012. Although the company has stopped operating as an airline it continues to manage the belly cargo hold capacity of Air India's passenger fleet.

AirAsia India Indian subsidiary of AirAsia, a Malaysian airline

AirAsia India is an Indian low cost carrier headquartered in Bangalore, Karnataka. The airline is a joint venture with Tata Sons holding 51% stake in the airline and AirAsia Investment Limited holding 49% stake. AirAsia India commenced operations on 12 June 2014 with Bangalore as its primary hub.

Air Costa Defunct Indian regional airline

Air Costa was an Indian regional airline headquartered in Vijayawada and based out of Chennai International Airport. It was owned by Indian business company LEPL Group. The airline commenced operations as a regional airline in October 2013 using two Embraer E-170 aircraft with the first flight taking off from Chennai on 16 October 2013. The airline got a permit for pan India operations in October 2016. The airline focused on connectivity between tier II and tier III cities in the country and invested 600 crore (US$84 million) as of 2015. Air Costa operated 32 daily flights to nine destinations from its focus cities Chennai and Vijayawada as of 2015. The airline had a maintenance center in Chennai. On 28 February 2017, it suspended operations until further notice.

Air Carnival Defunct Indian regional airline based in Coimbatore

Air Carnival was an Indian regional airline based at Coimbatore International Airport with a hub at Chennai International Airport. Air Carnival was promoted by the Coimbatore Marine College (CMC) Group. The airline was founded in 2013 as a charter airline but transitioned to scheduled operations within South India, which were launched in July 2016. The airline ceased operations on 6 April 2017. The Indian DGCA suspended its Air Operators Permit in June 2017. In November 2017, the Chennai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) ordered the corporate insolvency resolution process against the airline and ordered liquidation of the company in January 2019.

Air Pegasus was an Indian regional airline headquartered in Bangalore and based at Kempegowda International Airport. The airline was a subsidiary of Decor Aviation, an aircraft ground-handling services company. It commenced operations on 12 April 2015 with its inaugural flight between Bangalore and Hubli. The airline suspended operations on 27 July 2016, facing financial difficulties. At that time, Air Pegasus was serving eight airports across South India with a hub at Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore, using a fleet of three ATR 72-500 aircraft. Their flying licence was suspended by DGCA on 22 November 2016. Managing director Shyson Thomas stated in late 2017 that Air Pegasus would return to the skies in early 2018, as the company has formed a relationship with Dawn Aviation and is about to settle all of its debts.

TruStar is an Indian low-cost airline promoted by Turbo Aviation Pvt Ltd based in Hyderabad. The airline plans to launch operations by the second quarter of 2020 with Dornier 228 aircraft.
