Al-Sadd SC, a Qatari professional association football club, has gained entry to Asian Football Confederation (AFC) competitions on several occasions. They have represented Qatar in the Champions League on nineteen occasions, the now-defunct Cup Winners' Cup four separate occasions and FIFA Club World Cup on two occasions.

Contents

History

In the 1989 season, they became the first Arab club side to triumph in the Asian Club Championship by defeating Al-Rasheed of Iraq on an aggregate of away goals. Twenty-two years later, they won the 2011 Asian Champions League and earned a spot in the 2011 FIFA Club World Cup, in which Al-Sadd finished third. They also earned a spot in the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup automatically as host club, in which Al-Sadd finished sixth.

In the 2011–12 season, Al Sadd SC competed in the Qatar Stars League for the 39th season, as well as the Emir of Qatar Cup the Crown Prince Cup and the Champions League.

The 2019–20 season was Al-Hilal's 44th consecutive season in the top flight of Saudi football and 62nd year in existence as a football club. The club participated in the Pro League, the King Cup and both the 2019 and the 2020 editions of the AFC Champions League. Al-Hilal also competed in the FIFA Club World Cup following their triumph in the 2019 AFC Champions League Final. The season covers the period from 1 July 2019 to 29 November 2020. In this season, Al Hilal became the first asian club to complete a continental treble since Tokyo Verdy in 1987.

On November 3, after the match against Al-Duhail, Xavi left the club to be the new coach of FC Barcelona six years after his departure and this is after an agreement was reached between the two clubs.
