The Lingayen Gulf is a large gulf on northwestern Luzon in the Philippines, stretching 56 km (35 mi). It is framed by the provinces of Pangasinan and La Union and sits between the Zambales Mountains and the Cordillera Central. The Agno River and the Balili River drain into Lingayen Gulf.

The Hundred Islands National Park is the first national park and a protected area located in Alaminos, Pangasinan in the northern Philippines. The islands, totaling 124 at low tide and 123 at high tide, are scattered in Lingayen Gulf covering an area of 16.76 square kilometres (6.47 sq mi). Only four of them have been developed for tourism: Marcos Island, Governor Island, Quezon Island, and Children's Island.

According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 99,397 people. The city was named after Juan Alaminos y de Vivar, former Governor-General of the Philippines.

Iloilo International Airport, also known as Iloilo Airport, and as Cabatuan Airport, after the municipality of Cabatuan, Iloilo where it is located, is the airport serving the province of Iloilo in the Philippines, including its capital city, Iloilo City, the regional center of the Western Visayas region. It opened its doors to commercial traffic on 14 June 2007, after a decade of planning and construction, replacing Mandurriao Airport in Mandurriao, Iloilo City which had been in service for over seventy years. As a result, the new airport inherited its IATA and ICAO airport codes, as well as its position as the fourth-busiest airport in the Philippines, from its predecessor. It is the first airport in both Western Visayas and the island of Panay to be built to international standards, and it is also considered to be the primary gateway into the region. Pangasinan State University Filipino: Pamantasang Pampamahalaan ng Pangasinan also referred to by its acronym PSU or (PangSU)) is a public university in Pangasinan province, Philippines. The university was founded in its current form in 1979, although its origins trace back to the 1920s. PSU is notable for its many locations throughout the province of Pangasinan. It is mandated to provide advanced instruction in the arts, agricultural and natural sciences as well as in technological and professional fields. Its main campus is located in Lingayen, Pangasinan. Other campuses are located in Alaminos, Asingan, Bayambang, Binmaley, Infanta, San Carlos City, Santa Maria, and Urdaneta City. The PSU School of Advanced Studies (SAS) is located in Urdaneta City and the Open University Systems (OUS) is located in Lingayen Campus.

Pangasinan's 1st congressional district is one of the six congressional districts of the Philippines in the province of Pangasinan. It has been represented in the House of Representatives of the Philippines since 1916 and earlier in the Philippine Assembly from 1907 to 1916. The district consists of the western Pangasinan city of Alaminos and adjacent municipalities of Agno, Anda, Bani, Bolinao, Burgos, Dasol, Infanta, Mabini and Sual. It is currently represented in the 18th Congress by Arthur F. Celeste of the Nacionalista Party (NP).
The Saint Joseph the Patriarch Cathedral Parish, otherwise known as Alaminos Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic cathedral located at Barangay Poblacion in the city of Alaminos, Pangasinan, Philippines. Dedicated to Saint Joseph the Patriarch, it has been the episcopal seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Alaminos since 1985.
