Alec Shane Benjamin (born May 28, 1994) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, his 2018 breakthrough "Let Me Down Slowly" from his album "Narrated for You" reached the top 40 in over 25 countries.
Alec Shane Benjamin was born on May 28, 1994, in Phoenix, Arizona, [5] [6] where he and his sister were raised. [7] He started writing songs at 13 and learning guitar in high school, [8] [9] and released his first extended play (EP) America in 2013. [6]
Benjamin signed with Columbia Records and enrolled at the University of Southern California. However, Columbia Records ended their partnership weeks after he submitted his album. [7] After termination of his partnership with Columbia Records, he went on a self-funded tour in Europe, opening for Marina Kaye in France and Lea in Germany. He promoted his music by performing in parking lots outside concert venues and handing out business cards to passersby. [10]
Benjamin's mixtape Narrated for You was released on November 16, 2018. It features the songs "If We Have Each Other”, "Water Fountain," "Annabelle's Homework," and "Let Me Down Slowly". "Let Me Down Slowly" was later re-released as a single with Alessia Cara. [11] While promoting the mixtape, he started creating the "Can I Sing for You?" videos on YouTube, in which he performs acoustic versions of his songs for people in public. [12]
Benjamin's debut studio album These Two Windows was released on May 29, 2020. It peaked at number 8 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart. [13] His second album, (Un)Commentary , followed on April 15, 2022. [14] [15]
In 2023, he opened for John Mayer for a portion of Mayer's North American tour. He also performed at the annual Minecraft Live , singing a parody of his song "Let Me Down Slowly" using words from the Minecraft game universe. [16] Additionally, he began releasing tracks from his upcoming album, 12 Notes, which was released on May 10, 2024.
He occasionally records Mandarin versions of his songs, having been inspired by his dad who’s incorporated Chinese culture into his work as a medical doctor through acupuncture and eastern medicine. [17] He collaborated with popular Chinese actress Zhao Lusi on a Mandarin version of "Water Fountain". [18]
Benjamin has cited influences such as Eminem, [19] John Mayer, [20] Jason Mraz, Paul Simon, Joe Avneri and Chris Martin of Coldplay. [21] He has also expressed admiration for Kendrick Lamar [22] and classic singer-songwriters such as Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Carole King, [23] and Jackson Browne. [24]

Throughout his career, Dutch electronic DJ and producer Tiësto has released seven studio albums. After spending years searching for his personal style and working with DJs like Ferry Corsten, Benno de Goeij and Armin van Buuren, he decided it was time to focus on his solo work. Tiësto's fame started to rise in the late 1990s after his set at the first ID&T Innercity party, and it continued to skyrocket in the early 2000s following his six-hour "Tiësto Solo" sets, which he performed without any other DJs or opening acts. His last three full-length releases broke the 70,000-unit mark, and the 2003 DJ mix Nyana hit 87,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan in mid-2008.

Avicii said that sonically, the album would move away from his earlier house music sound on previous records by incorporating elements of other genres such as country music. True was preceded by the release of the Aloe Blacc-assisted "Wake Me Up" that featured a rare Marantz Enhanced Digital Stereo audio track and topped several charts around the world, and "You Make Me", which features vocals from Swedish artist Salem Al Fakir.
American rapper Logic has released nine studio albums, one EP, one compilation album, one soundtrack album, ten mixtapes, five beat tapes, 66 singles, three promotional singles and 42 music videos. In December 2010, Logic released his debut mixtape, Young, Broke & Infamous.

In comparison to Smoke + Mirrors and their 2012 debut Night Visions, frontman Dan Reynolds called the album an "evolution" for the band.
