A 32-man provisional squad was announced on 22 December 2016. [11] [12] The final squad was announced on 31 December 2016, with Ayoub Azzi, Ishak Belfodil, Ismaël Bennacer, Yassine Benzia, Sofiane Feghouli, Houari Ferhani, Carl Medjani, Adam Ounas and Idriss Saadi being left out of the team. [13] On January 11, 2017, Ismaël Bennacer was called up to replace Saphir Taïder, who suffered an injury in training. [14]

The 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, also known as the Orange Africa Cup of Nations for sponsorship reasons, was the 28th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the football championship of Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, known as the Total Africa Cup of Nations, Gabon 2017, was the 31st edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the biennial international men's football championship of Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The tournament was scheduled to be hosted by Libya, until CAF rescinded its hosting rights in August 2014 due to ongoing war in the country. The tournament was instead hosted by Gabon. This event was also part of the Africa Cup of Nations 60th Anniversary.
The 2013 African U-20 Championship officially known as the Orange African U-20 Championship, Algeria 2013 was the 19th edition of the African U-20 Championship. The competition was held in Algeria in the cities of Oran and Aïn Témouchent from March 16 to 30 March 2013. The semifinalists will participate in 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The 2015 African U-17 Championship was the 11th edition of the biennial international youth football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for players aged 17 and below. The tournament took place in Niamey, Niger, and was originally scheduled to be held between 2 and 16 May. However, the date of the opening match was pushed forward to 15 February, with the tournament scheduled to conclude with the final on 1 March.
