Angelica Moratelli (born 17 August 1994) is an Italian professional tennis player. She achieved her career-high singles ranking of world No. 318 on 23 September 2013, and No. 62 in doubles on 9 September 2024.

Contents

Moratelli has won two doubles titles on the WTA Challenger Tour along with ten singles and thirty-one doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit.

Career

She made her main-draw debut on the WTA Tour at the 2016 Italian Open in the doubles draw, partnering Claudia Giovine. They won their first round match against Xu Yifan and Zheng Saisai.[ citation needed ]

In July 2023, Moratelli reached her first WTA Tour final at the Palermo Ladies Open with fellow Italian Camilla Rosatello, losing to Kimberley Zimmermann and Yana Sizikova. [1]

In January 2024, she was selected as part of the 2024 United Cup as the WTA doubles player for team Italy. [2]

At the 2024 US Open on her debut, she reached the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time with Jaqueline Cristian but lost to top seeds Erin Routliffe and Gabriela Dabrowski. [3]

Erin Hope Routliffe is a New Zealand professional tennis player who previously represented Canada. She became world No. 1 in doubles on 15 July 2024. Routliffe won a major doubles title at the 2023 US Open partnering Gabriela Dabrowski. She became the second New Zealand woman to win a major in the Open Era, after Judy Connor won the women's doubles title at the 1979 Australian Open. Routliffe was a two-time NCAA doubles champion with Maya Jansen for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

Giuliana Marion Olmos Dick is an Austrian-born Mexican professional tennis player. Olmos, a graduate of USC, has a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 6, achieved on 10 April 2023. She has won six doubles titles on the WTA Tour. With her partner Desirae Krawczyk, she became the first Mexican player in the Open Era to reach a WTA Tour final, at the 2018 Monterrey Open. In 2019, she became the first Mexican player to win a title on WTA Tour, taking the doubles crown at the Nottingham Open. In 2020, she became the first Mexican woman to win the Mexican Open, also with Krawczyk. And at last in 2022, she became the first Mexican woman to enter the top 10 in the WTA rankings in either singles or doubles. She has a best singles ranking of world No. 343, achieved on 4 March 2019, and has won four singles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit.

She reached a career-high WTA ranking of No. 7 on 29 January 2024, becoming the second Chinese player to reach the top 10 after Li Na.

Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini defeated Coco Gauff and Erin Routliffe in the final, 6–3, 4–6, [10–8] to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2024 Italian Open. They became the first all-Italian female pair to win the title since 2012, when Errani did so partnering Roberta Vinci.
