Arto Olavi Satonen (born 20 October 1966) is a Finnish politician and a member of the Finnish Parliament, representing the National Coalition Party. He was first elected to the Parliament in the 2003 parliamentary election. [1] Satonen served as the vice-chairman of the parliamentary group of the National Coalition Party 2012–2014 and chairman 2014–2016. [2] In June 2016 Satonen was chosen as the second deputy speaker for the Parliament and served in the position until the reshuffle of the seats in February 2018. [3] [4]

Satonen was born in Vammala. Before his career in politics, he worked as a teacher in various universities of applied sciences. [5] He also ran a grill kiosk in Vammala for five years. [6]

In June 2023, he was appointed Minister of Employment in the Orpo Cabinet. [7]

The Centre Party, which had been the largest party following the 2015 elections, dropped to fourth place, losing 18 seats and recording its lowest vote share since 1917. The Social Democratic Party saw the biggest gains, winning six more seats and narrowly becoming the largest party for the first time since 1999. The Green League and the Left Alliance also gained five and four seats respectively.

In the 2021 municipal election she collected the second-highest number of votes in Helsinki and was elected a member of its city council.
