Attraction are a Hungarian shadow theatre group. They rose to fame during a performance at the Hungary Olympic Oath Ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics, in which they did a rendition of many of the traditional sports within the five rings of the Olympic games logo.[ citation needed ] Less than a year later, they won the seventh series of Britain's Got Talent on 8 June 2013, beating Jack Carroll.

History

2004: Formation guys

The group was founded in 2004 by Zoltán Szűcs. Szűcs himself was a performer who achieved national success in the mid-1990s with his pop group Hip Hop Boyz, [1] when he was known as Real Action. [2] Attraction itself consists of twelve members, [3] although only eight were able to perform on Britain's Got Talent: Torda Katalin, Tóth Alexandra, Fehér Norbert, Lakatos Andrea, Szűcs Zoltán, Szentinek Csaba, Szabados Flóra and Kántor Janka.

Das Supertalent (2012)

In 2012, they finished in 7th place in the German version of the Got Talent franchise: Das Supertalent .The German judges found Attraction very creative, though they also said that Attraction could do more with their talent. Their black light performance did not have enough power to convince the Germans of letting them pass on to the finals. Judge Thomas Gottschalk said he had never seen anything quite like this and that he was stunned by their performance.

Britain's Got Talent (2013)

For their Britain's Got Talent auditions, they acted out a story of a couple who meet at Stonehenge, fall in love, marry, and have a child. The father goes off to war shortly after their baby is born, and dies tragically. The piece ends with an image of the mother and daughter standing beside his tombstone. Judge Amanda Holden fought back tears and called the performance 'moving' and they received a loud standing ovation from the audience and judges.

For their semi-final performance, Attraction depicted a mother giving birth to her son, the son going off to college, getting married, and eventually the mother dies in her son's arms. At the end, the son's wife reveals that she is pregnant. The story was based on Szűcs' life story, who dedicated the performance to his late mother. [1] They got high praise from the judges, with Holden stating that she even saw Simon Cowell shed a tear. They got first place on the 5th semi final vote sending them straight to the finals.

In the final Attraction performed a tribute to Britain, the highlights being when a lion was formed with their bodies and the face of Queen Elizabeth II they formed with their bodies at the end of the performance. Once again they received a standing ovation and again Holden shed a tear. They were announced the winners and became the first foreign act to win Britain's Got Talent and the third group act to win.

Post Talent

It has been reported that they will perform at The Mirage in Las Vegas. [4] As winners of Britain's Got Talent, they performed at the Royal Variety Performance on 9 December 2013. [5]

The group has also been invited to perform at the 2014 CCTV New Year's Gala on China Central Television, [6] [7] showing renditions of landmarks and icons of China, such as Huangshan, The Great Wall of China, The Temple of Heaven, the giant panda, and a Changzheng launch vehicle. The performance ends, in applause, with a configuration of the Chinese character for spring (春), followed by another configuration of the digits 2014 in the shape of a Horse, the Chinese zodiac for the lunar year 2014.

In 2014, Attraction appeared on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway alongside fellow Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts. [8] The group later also made a return appearance on Britain's Got Talent along with fellow 2013 contestants Richard & Adam.[ citation needed ] They also performed "Best of Britain’s Got Talent" on the show's 10th series.

In 2014 Attraction were chosen to front a major TV advertising Campaign for UK insurance broker Swinton Insurance. [9]

In 2022, Attraction Juniors auditioned for the 2022 series of Britain's Got Talent. The junior group was put together by Szűcs, and is fronted by his son Martin.

On the 21st of December 2023, Attraction depicted the lives of Katherine Shoesmith and Rhys Cogan culminating in the engagement of the couple.

America's Got Talent: The Champions (2019)

In February 2019, Attraction competed in America's Got Talent: The Champions. They made it to the top 3 of their preliminary round, however, they came 2nd in the Superfan voting, so they did not advance to the finale.

<i>Britains Got Talent</i> Televised British talent competition

Britain's Got Talent is a televised British talent show competition, and part of the global Got Talent franchise created by Simon Cowell. Presented by Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, it is produced by both Thames and Syco Entertainment, distributed by Fremantle, and broadcast on ITV every year in late Spring to early Summer. The show was originally intended for production in 2005, but filming was suspended in the wake of a dispute between ITV and the programme's originally planned host. Following the success of America's Got Talent that year, production resumed and the programme eventually premiered on 9 June 2007.

China's Got Talent (Chinese: 中国达人秀; lit. 'China's Talent Show') was a Chinese reality television series on Dragon TV and a part of the Got Talent franchise, hosted by Cheng Lei. The fifth series of British talent competition programme Britain's Got Talent was broadcast on ITV, from 16 April to 4 June 2011; due to live coverage of the 2011 UEFA Champions League Final on 28 May, the final audition episode of the series was pushed back a day to avoid clashing with it. As Piers Morgan had departed from the programme the previous year, and the schedule of Simon Cowell made him unable to attend auditions, the producers arranged for Amanda Holden to be joined by David Hasselhoff and Michael McIntyre on the judging panel. Due to Hasselhoff's schedule during filming of the auditions, Louis Walsh stepped in as a guest judge for the sessions he could not attend.

Jai McDowall is a Scottish singer–songwriter who won the fifth series of Britain's Got Talent in June 2011. As the winner, he received £100,000 and performed at the 2011 Royal Variety Performance. McDowall was signed to Syco Music, a subdivision of record label giant, Sony Music.

<i>Britains Got Talent</i> (series 7) Season of television series

The seventh series of British talent competition programme Britain's Got Talent was broadcast on ITV, from 13 April to 8 June 2013; because of England's international friendly with the Republic of Ireland that year, the show took a break on 29 May to avoid clashing with live coverage of the match. Because of the work schedule of Stephen Mulhern, host of Britain's Got More Talent, filmed auditions had to be pushed back to mid-January that year, while no guest judge was brought in despite the absence of Simon Cowell for an audition session. Following the previous series, the programme's format was given a minor amendment - the cash prize offered to winners was reduced to £250,000 from this series onwards.

Moltopera Company is a Hungarian independent opera company. Moltopera targets mainly the young and those who dislike opera, inviting new audiences for the genre. In order to achieve this, Moltopera tries to dismiss the general opera stereotypes of the "fat, incomprehensible singers and unrealistic stories on stage." Apart from the stage performances, Moltopera also gives lectures in universities and secondary schools.

<i>Chinese Idol</i> Chinese TV series or program

Chinese Idol is a Chinese reality/singing competition program. Based on the British television series, Pop Idol, which was created by Simon Fuller and developed by FremantleMedia, Chinese Idol premiered on May 19, 2013 on DragonTV and was hosted by Chinese TV hosts, Lin Hai, who previously hosted the Chinese version of Family Feud from April 2010 to October 2010 succeeded by Chinese actor, Ying Da, and Cheng Lei, who hosted China's Got Talent and the Chinese version of Top Gear from November 2014 to December 2015. Chinese Idol ended its second and final season on December 14, 2014.

<i>Britains Got Talent</i> (series 8) Season of television series

The eighth series of British talent competition programme Britain's Got Talent was broadcast on ITV, from 12 April to 7 June 2014; because of England's international friendly with Peru, the show took a break on 30 May to avoid clashing with live coverage of the match. Auditions were held in Northern Ireland instead of Scotland for this series, with hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly having to stand in for Simon Cowell, after illness forced him to be absent during a day of auditions. This series was the first in the programme's history to introduce the "Golden Buzzer" format to the competition – an element that was being introduced to the Got Talent franchise since it was first introduced on Germany's Got Talent in 2012.

Asanda Jezile is a singer from London. Her parents moved to the UK from Eastern Cape, South Africa. She was a finalist at the seventh series of Britain's Got Talent, finishing in last place.

<i>X-Faktor</i> (series 5) Season of television series

X-Faktor is a Hungarian television music competition to find new singing talent. The fifth series was broadcast on RTL Klub in 2014. Bence Istenes presented his second series of X-Faktor. Róbert Szikora, Gabi Tóth and Róbert Alföldi all returned to judge the talent for the second time. Gábor Szűcs, a new judge joined them, replacing the original judge Péter Geszti.

<i>Britains Got Talent</i> (series 10) Season of television series

The tenth series of British talent competition programme Britain's Got Talent was broadcast on ITV, from 9 April to 28 May 2016. To celebrate ten series of the show, the final featured a special performance entitled "Best of Britain’s Got Talent", which featured several participants who had appeared on the show during the previous nine series, including Ashleigh and Pudsey, Attraction, Diversity, Jon Clegg, Stavros Flatley, Collabro and Spelbound. It was the last series to have its live episodes broadcast at The Fountain Studios before the site's closure that year.
