Life and career

Christmas was born in Gravesend in Kent and studied at the D&B Academy of Performing Arts. After graduating in 2014, [1] she went on to make her stage debut in the Kings Cross Theatre production of the jukebox musical Lazarus . [2] She later went on to perform on cruise ships including Independence of the Seas and Quantum of the Seas where she appeared in productions including Grease and Starlight Express . [3] From 2020 to spring 2023 she was at Starlight Express in Bochum, Germany, first as ″swing″ (responsible for understudying multiple ensemble tracks and being able to replace several cast members), [4] later playing Carrie the Luggage Car. [5] [6] She also appeared in Stage School [7] and took a zero-hour contract at a local gym. [8]

After finding that her career was struggling, she auditioned for the seventeenth series of Britain's Got Talent. [9] At her audition, which was broadcast in 2024, she sang "Tomorrow" from the musical Annie after which she received the Golden Buzzer from Amanda Holden and advanced straight to the semi-finals. [10] Christmas sang Paul Anka's "My Way" in the third semi-final, which she won with 37.9% of the public vote. [11] She was the bookies' clear favourite in the final, despite "fix claims" regarding her previous professional experience. [12] She closed the show, singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" from The Wizard of Oz , and was subsequently declared the winner with 27.2% of the vote. [11] [13]

My love for Starlight Express started when I was at college. I was lucky enough to go and see the Uk tour. Since then, Starlight stole my heart. The lyric. The music. The story. The story radiates hope and light. Something I've carried with me ever since.

I was lucky enough to book Starlight Express, in Bochum Germany as a SWING, on and off for 4 years.

When I came home from Germany, I actually auditioned for the UK version of Starlight Express… after many rounds… I didn't book the job.

A lot of my friends did though! My heart was ecstatic for them all! But broke a little … as I couldn't relive Starlight with them.

BUT LISTEN UP✨✨ If I'd had booked Starlight Express, I wouldn't have entered BGT. The rest is history.

After seeing opening night of Starlight Express in London, me and max started messing around on the piano singing "Starlight Express" Starlight Express continued to inspire us. So I posted a video.

By my surprise @andrewlloydwebber Reshared my video! And gave me permission to make my own version 🥹 PINCH ME MOMENT. I just simply had too 🥹

It's been my pleasure to make this Version of Starlight Express. Full circle moment. I feel like I can give something back to the Show, that quite frankly changed my life.

Taught me the power of Hope.

And that "There's a light at the end of the tunnel"

I dedicate this to Michal Fraley (Starlight Express Original Skate Coach) who is no longer with us. Michal taught thousands of us since the beginning of Starlight Express to skate. Miracle worker. He saw the light in us all. This is for you Sir ❤️
