Mansehra District is a district in the Hazara Division, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Pakistan. Mansehra city serves as the headquarters of the district.

Baffa is a town, a union council and capital of Tehsil Baffa Pakhal of Mansehra District in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It lies about 15 km north of the district capital, Mansehra. It is majorly owned by Lughmani clan of the Sarkheli sub-section of Swati Pashtun tribe.
Shinkiari is a Union Council of Mansehra District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is a major tea city with many tea gardens. The police station was established before the Partition of India. At that time, Baffa was a police chowki of Shinkiari Police Station and the second police chowki was in Battal. Both chowkies have now become police stations while historically with poor political background Shinkiari is still a police station instead of a tehsil of Mansehra District. Most of the people are from the Swati Pashtun and Gujjar tribes, speaking Pashto and Hindko. Swatis are the biggest landlords here including Panjghol Swatis and Panjmerals Swatis who are further divided into many Khels/sub-sections.
Thakot or Takot is a tribal town on the Indus River in Battagram District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is also one of twenty Union Councils of Battagram District, and one of twelve in Battagram Tehsil. Thakot is located midway between Battagram town in the south and Besham town in the north, at a distance of about 30 km from both.
Dhodial is an important town and union council located near Baffa between Mansehra and Shinkiari in Mansehra District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Dhodial is a fertile region known for its vegetables and tobacco crop. Dhodial is also well known for its pheasant conservation project. The town was badly affected by the 2005 Pakistan earthquake.

Abdul Hakeem Khan Swati was a former governor of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan and former Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court. He belongs to Swati tribe of Baffa, the largest Union Council of Mansehra District. He was appointed the Governor of North-West Frontier Province when General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq imposed Martial Law on 5 July 1977 and appointed all provincial Chief justices as governors of respective provinces. Khan died on 4 January 2007, aged 90. He belonged to Lughmani family of the Sarkheli subsection of Swati tribe.
Garhi Habibullah is a town and union council of Mansehra District in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is located in Balakot Tehsil and lies to the east of district capital Mansehra, towards the Kashmir frontier. It was affected by the 2005 Kashmir earthquake.

Haroon Khan Badshah also known as Badshah Khan, was an ex-provincial Minister for Agriculture Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Member of Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the headman of Sum Elai-Mang a village in Sirran Valley, Mansehra District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He belonged to Khankhail Tribe. Sum is also a union council of Mansehra District in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.
Swatis (Urdu: سواتی) are people inhabiting the Hazara division in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Today Swatis usually speak Hindko or Pashto as their primary languages and identify themselves with Hindkowans and Pashtuns. Of Dardic origins, Swatis originally spoke Dardic languages such as Gibri and Yadri and were native inhabitants of Swat valley. They were Pashtunized after Yousafzai occupation of Swat in the 16th century and were displaced to Kohistan. In historic accounts Pashtuns referred to Swatis as "Dehgan"; this was not an ethnic designation but simply referred to the fact that they were villagers. They are also sometimes called Tajiks, a common ethnonym used by Pashtuns to describe their Dardic neighbours. Hemphil (2009) rejects Ibbetson's (1916:95-6) assertion of Swatis as a "race of Hindu origin" from peninsular India, suggesting, instead, that Swatis show a higher affinity to their neighbours in the northwest and with people in the Indus valley, to the south. Khan Khel Swati is a sub-section in various sections of all three branches of the Swati.
Babar Saleem Swati also known as Babar Saleem Khan Jahangiri is a Pakistani politician and landlord who is the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 29 February 2024. He is member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from the constituency PK -37 Mansehra -II. Previously, he was a member of the Provincial Assembly from 2018 to 2022 and served as Advisor to the Chief Minister on Home and Tribal Affairs from October 2022 till January 2023. He belongs to the Jehangiri family within the Swati tribe of Mansehra.
