Beach Volleyball Republic, Inc. (BVR) is an organization aimed for the development of beach volleyball in the Philippines . It was formed in June 2015. [1] [2] [3]
Aside from the 5 legs, BVR organized another leg on May 20–21 for their nationwide tour before moving back to Manila for the culmination of the tour on May 26–29 at the Sands SM By the Bay. Starting with the Boracay leg, the semifinals and finals matches of the BVR on Tour events were aired on ABS-CBN Sports+Action, the official broadcast partner of BVR. [4]
The inaugural staging of the BVR Nationwide Tour was held on January 30–31, 2016 at the Cabugao Beach Resort, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur. 8 teams (divided into two groups) participated in the two-day event. The winner of the event received a 70,000 pesos cash prize. [5]

The third leg of the BVR On Tour was held at the Anguib Beach, Santa Ana, Cagayan on February 20–21, in partnership with the Cagayan Grand Adventure and Leisure (CGAL) and Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) . [7]

The fourth leg of the BVR On Tour was held on Lakawon Island, Cadiz, Negros Occidental, on March 18–19, 2016. Bea Tan and Fiola Ceballos won the fourth leg's championship match against a guest team from Iloilo.

The sixth leg of the BVR on Tour was held at Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan on April 27–28, 2016. The semifinals and finals of the leg was aired on a delayed basis on ABS-CBN Sports and Action (Channel 23 and HD 166). [8] The tandem of Soriano and Micek emerged as the leg's champions after beating the team from the Philippine Air Force in the finals. [9]

The seventh and the final leg before the national championships of the BVR on Tour was held in Bayawan, Negros Oriental on May 20–21, 2016, in partnership with the local government of Bayawan. BVR teams and some teams from Negros took part in the two-day tourney. [10]

The National Championships of the Beach Volleyball Republic was held at the Sands, SM By the Bay in Pasay on May 26–27, 2016. Winning teams from different BVR legs and invited teams participated in the culmination of the 5-month long BVR nationwide tour. [11] Qualifiers, semifinals and finals was aired also on ABS-CBN Sports+Action. Lakawon leg winners Bea Tan and Fiola Ceballos were crowned as the national champions. [12]

After its successful nationwide tour, BVR held its invitational tournament featuring 10 international teams from the United States, Brazil, Singapore, Thailand, New Zealand and Hong Kong and 2 local duos (BVR shareholders Bea Tan and Charo Soriano and national championship runner-up Jennifer Cosas and Floremej Rodriguez) on June 9–11, 2016 at the Anguib Beach, Santa Ana, Cagayan. [13] Several matches were aired on ABS-CBN Sports and Action on June 18–19, 2016.
The invitational tournament was sanctioned by the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. (LVPI), the country's volleyball national sports association. [14]

The Beach Volleyball Republic returned in October 2021 after a two-tear hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It held a two-leg tournament under a bubble format in Santa Ana, Cagayan featuring 11 men's teams and 14 women's teams. [30] [31]

Santa Ana, officially the Municipality of Santa Ana, is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Cagayan, Philippines. In the 2020 census, it had a population of 35,688 people.
The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is the top-level professional women's volleyball league in the Philippines organized by the Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. The PVL was established in 2004 as the inter-collegiate Shakey's V-League (SVL) until it rebranded to the current entity in 2017. Prior to becoming a full-fledged professional league in 2021, the PVL was open to participation of corporate owned semi-professional clubs and non-collegiate teams backed by local governments.
The Le Tour de Filipinas is an annual professional road bicycle racing stage race held in Luzon, Philippines since 1955 as part of the UCI Asia Tour. It is held in April every year. While the course changes every year, the tour traditionally ends at Rizal Park, Manila, although recently the tour has ended in Baguio after being licensed by the UCI. Its previous names included the Tour of Luzon, Marlboro Tour, Tour of Calabarzon, Tour Pilipinas and Padyak Pinoy, before carrying the current name.
The University Athletic Association of the Philippines beach volleyball tournament started in SY 2006-07 as a demonstration sport. The event is now held yearly. It is held at the SM Sands by the Bay in Pasay.
Alyssa Caymo Valdez is a Filipino volleyball player who currently plays for the Creamline Cool Smashers. She was a member of the collegiate varsity women's volleyball team of Ateneo de Manila University in both indoor and beach volleyball. She was most outstanding as an indoor volleyball player where she brought multiple championship titles and a lot of honor for the university. She is a current member of Philippines national team. Her global recognition paved the way for her to play in other countries like Thailand for 3BB Nakornnont and Taiwan for Attack Line Volleyball Club.
Fille Saint Merced Nombres Cainglet-Cayetano is a Filipina volleyball player of the Creamline Cool Smashers in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL). Fille also played for the Petron Blaze Spikers in the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) from 2013 to 2016.
The Hoops Dome is an indoor arena in Lapu-Lapu, Cebu, Philippines. The venue occupies an area of 4,000 square metres. The Hoops Dome was completed in 2008 and was formally opened on July 2, 2011. It has hosted numerous PBA games since opening in 2011, most notably the Visayas leg of the 2017 PBA All-Star Week on April 30, 2017. It is also one of the home arenas of the Cebu Casino Ethyl Alcohol during the team's tenure in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League from 2018 until 2020.
Maria Rosario Bollozos Soriano known as Charo Soriano, is a Filipino volleyball player, coach, and politician. Soriano is one of the founders of Beach Volleyball Republic, an outdoor volleyball tournament, and a board member of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation. She also serves as a city councilor of Tuguegarao since 2022.
Gretchen Ong Ho is a Filipino broadcaster, television presenter and former volleyball player. She played collegiate volleyball for the Ateneo Lady Eagles from 2008 to 2013, where she was a member of the "fab five" who brought Ateneo to their first back-to-back UAAP finals appearances. She then played professionally for the Petron Blaze Spikers in the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) from 2013 to 2015, where she helped the team win the 2014 Grand Prix Conference.
Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. was the national sport association for volleyball in the Philippines between 2015 and January 2021. It was recognized by the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and provisionally recognized by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). In 2021, the newly formed Philippine National Volleyball Federation became recognized by the POC, AVC and FIVB as the national sport association for volleyball in the Philippines.
The 2015 PSL season is the third season of the Philippine Super Liga (PSL). There were two indoor conferences for the season – the All-Filipino, and the Grand Prix. It staged its first beach volleyball tournament, the Challenge Cup, for the women's and men's divisions.

The Ateneo Blue Eagles women's volleyball program is the women's collegiate varsity volleyball team of the Ateneo de Manila University. The team competes in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).
The volleyball tournaments of NCAA Season 91 started on November 30, 2015. The Colegio de San Juan de Letran is currently hosting the tournament. Games are played at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan, with two women's and men's games. The women's and men's semifinals' and finals' games are aired live by ABS-CBN Sports and Action and in High Definition on ABS-CBN Sports and Action HD 166.

The 2017 PBA All-Star Week was the annual all-star week of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA)'s 2016–17 season which was on April 26 to 30, 2017 on three different venues covering Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The all-star week kicked off in Cagayan de Oro (Mindanao) on April 26, then was held in Lucena (Luzon) together with the skills challenge on April 28, then capped off on April 30 in Cebu City.
Cherry Ann Quipanes Rondina, popularly known as Sisi Rondina, is a Filipino indoor and beach volleyball player. She is currently playing for the Choco Mucho Flying Titans at the Premier Volleyball League.
The Perlas Spikers, also previously known as the BanKo Perlas Spikers, are a professional women's volleyball team playing in the Premier Volleyball League. The team is owned by the Beach Volleyball Republic.
