Elections to Bournemouth Borough Council on the south coast of England were held on 1 May 2003. The whole council (a unitary authority) was up for election. The number of seats at this election was reduced from 57 to 54 (wards reduced from 19 to 18).

Bournemouth Borough Council is the local authority of Bournemouth in Dorset, England. The council is now a unitary authority, although between 1974 and 1997 it was an administrative district council with Dorset. Previously most of the borough was part of Hampshire.

England is a country that is part of the United Kingdom. It shares land borders with Wales to the west and Scotland to the north-northwest. The Irish Sea lies west of England and the Celtic Sea lies to the southwest. England is separated from continental Europe by the North Sea to the east and the English Channel to the south. A unitary authority is a type of local authority that has a single tier and is responsible for all local government functions within its area or performs additional functions which elsewhere in the relevant country are usually performed by national government or a higher level of sub-national government.

The 2002 elections to Southwark Council were held in the London Borough of Southwark, England, on 2 May 2002. The whole council was up for election, with boundary changes since the last election in 1998, reducing the number of seats by one. There were 63 seats in 21 wards. The Council moved from Labour controlled to no overall control, with a minority Liberal Democrat executive. Turnout was 26.2%.

Elections to Wigan Council were held on 4 May 1878, with one third of the council up for election as well as vacancies in Ward 2 and 17. Previous to the election, a Labour councillor in Ward 9 defected to become an Independent Labour, reducing Labour's majority to 38. This seat was up for vote and became the only Labour gain of the night, as they suffered five losses to the Conservatives, and their majority reduced to 30 - half of what it was in 1973. The election seen a first of all wards being contested, with turnout rising marginally to 34.7%.

The 2016 Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council election took place on 5 May 2016 to elect members of the Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council in England. Following a boundary review, the number of seats was reduced from 63 to 45, with all of these new seats being up for election at the same time.
