Pateley Bridge is a market town in the civil parish of High and Low Bishopside, in Nidderdale, in the county and district of North Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it lies on the River Nidd. It is in the Yorkshire Dales and just outside the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Nidderdale, historically also known as Netherdale, is one of the Yorkshire Dales in North Yorkshire, England. It is the upper valley of the River Nidd, which flows east from its source, then south underground for 2 miles (3 km) and then south-east along the dale, forming several reservoirs including the Gouthwaite Reservoir, before turning east and eventually joining the River Ouse.
Bewerley is a village and civil parish in the former Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. The village is 0.5 mile south of Pateley Bridge in Nidderdale. The parish includes the part of the Pateley Bridge built-up area west of the River Nidd, where Pateley Bridge post office, the Nidderdale showground, Nidderdale High School and the district of Bridgehouse Gate are located. The parish also includes the village of Greenhow, 3 miles (5 km) west of Pateley Bridge. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 730, decreasing at the 2011 Census to 717.
Glasshouses is a small village in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire, England. It lies 1 mile (1.6 km) south-east of Pateley Bridge on the east side of Nidderdale and has a recently rebuilt river bridge across the River Nidd. In 2019 it had an estimated population of 536.
Ramsgill is a small village in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire, England, about 2 miles (3.2 km) south-east of Lofthouse, located near Gouthwaite Reservoir. It is chiefly known for the Yorke Arms, formerly a Michelin-starred restaurant on the village green which takes its name from the lords of the manor, the Yorke family, who once lived in nearby Gouthwaite Hall. The Yorke Arms is now an event venue.
Lofthouse is a small village in Nidderdale in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England about a mile south of Middlesmoor. It is the principal settlement in the civil parish of Fountains Earth. Lofthouse has a primary school, memorial village hall and public house, the Crown Hotel. The post office in the village closed in August 2014, and was replaced by a post office in the cafe at nearby How Stean Gorge, also now closed.

Ramsgill railway station was a station on the Nidd Valley Light Railway in Nidderdale in Yorkshire, England. It opened in 1907 and closed in 1930. It was located in Bouthwaite, 0.3 miles (0.5 km) from the village of Ramsgill, then in the West Riding of Yorkshire but now in North Yorkshire. The station is now a private residence, though the platform can still be seen.
Wath-in-Nidderdale railway station, was one of two intermediate stations on the Nidd Valley Light Railway, in Wath-in-Nidderdale, Yorkshire, England. The station was opened in September 1907, and closed to passengers in January 1930, however the line remained open until 1936 to transport freight to and from the reservoirs in the Upper Nidd Valley.
High and Low Bishopside is a civil parish in Nidderdale in the Harrogate district, in the county of North Yorkshire, England. It includes the town of Pateley Bridge and the villages of Glasshouses and Wilsill, the southern part of Wath and the hamlets of Blazefield, and Fellbeck. The parish touches Bewerley, Dacre, Eavestone, Fountains Earth, Hartwith cum Winsley, Laverton, Sawley, Stonebeck Down and Warsill. In 2011 the parish had a population of 2,210. There are 39 listed buildings in High and Low Bishopside. The parish's council is called "Pateley Bridge Town Council".
Smelthouses is a hamlet in Nidderdale in North Yorkshire, England. It lies about 2.3 miles (4 km) south-east of Pateley Bridge, on either side of Fell Beck, a small tributary of the River Nidd. Fell Beck here forms the boundary between the civil parishes of Hartwith cum Winsley and High and Low Bishopside, so that the settlement is divided between the two parishes.

Of these, one is listed at Grade II*, the middle of the three grades, and the others are at Grade II, the lowest grade. The parish extends along Nidderdale, and contains the villages of Lofthouse and Bouthwaite, part of Wath-in-Nidderdale, and the surrounding countryside. Most of the listed buildings are houses, farmhouses and farm buildings, and the others include two war memorials, a bridge and a water pump.
