The Unified Team at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, was a joint team consisting of twelve of the fifteen former Soviet republics that chose to compete together; the states of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania competed separately. The team has been informally called the Commonwealth of Independent States team, though Georgia was not yet a member of the CIS when it competed as part of the Unified Team. Selected athletes from the Baltic states also competed on the Unified Team. It competed under the IOC country code EUN. A total of 475 competitors, 310 men and 165 women, took part in 234 events in 27 sports.

Andreas Tews is a German former amateur boxer. Tews won the Flyweight Silver medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics and the Featherweight Gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics.

Faustino Reyes López is a former boxer from Spain, who represented his native country at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. There he won the silver medal in the featherweight division, after being defeated in the final by Germany's Andreas Tews. He was born in Marchena, Seville and is of Romani descent.

The men's flyweight event was part of the boxing programme at the 1988 Summer Olympics. The weight class allowed boxers of up to 51 kilograms to compete. The competition was held from 18 September to 2 October 1988. 44 boxers from 44 nations competed. Kim Kwang-sun won the gold medal.

The men's bantamweight event was part of the boxing programme at the 1992 Summer Olympics. The weight class allowed boxers of up to 54 kilograms to compete. The competition was held from 28 July to 8 August 1992. 31 boxers from 31 nations competed.

The men's light welterweight event was part of the boxing programme at the 1992 Summer Olympics. The weight class allowed boxers of up to 63.5 kilograms to compete. The competition was held from 30 July to 9 August 1992. 30 boxers from 30 nations competed.
