The population is included in the parish of Newbold Verdon.

Among a handful of residences is a pub, named The Windmill. Previous medieval and post medieval settlements on the same site were deserted. [2]

Brascote House, one of the two farms in Brascote was demolished in 2009 to allow for the land beneath to be quarried. [ citation needed ]

Originally an agricultural centre Newbold Verdon grew in size during the 1850s with the expansion of coal mining in the area. That industry has now ceased leaving Newbold Verdon as a commuter village primarily serving Leicester and Hinckley. The 2001 census recorded a population of 3,193, which had reduced to 3,012 at the 2011 census.

Moreton cum Alcumlow is a small civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. In the census of 2001 it was recorded as having a population of 150. The civil parish holds a parish council meeting under a grouping scheme with the adjacent civil parish of Newbold Astbury, and so it is consequently called Newbold Astbury-cum-Moreton Parish Council. Within the civil parish is the small village of Ackers Crossing, and Alcumlow Hall and Great Moreton Hall.

Lighthorne Heath village in United Kingdom

Lighthorne Heath is a village and civil parish in Warwickshire, England. It is located some six miles to the south east of Leamington Spa and is very close to the M40 motorway. The village began life in the 1950s, situated to the north of RAF Gaydon it housed the married airmen and officers. Before that time the site was just farmland between Gaydon and Lighthorne with a few isolated buildings. After just over thirty years of active service most of the smaller houses on the base were sold off to Stratford District Council between 1976 and 1981. Throughout the 1980s the larger houses were sold on the open market by the Ministry of Defence. The runway and RAF buildings were taken over in 1978 by British Leyland, and became a proving ground for its cars. This evolved into the Gaydon centre and the British Motor Museum, a museum of many British cars. More recently Aston Martin built a factory here for its car production. The village got its own parish council in 2003. Before 2003 it shared a Parish Council with Lighthorne, a village 800m to the west. According to the 2011 UK Census Lighthorne Heath parish had a population of 898 living in 370 households. It is possible that Office for National Statistics has used incorrect parish boundaries to compile their statistics. The village has had a primary school for many years. The school used to be called Gaydon Primary School but changed its name to Lighthorne Heath Primary School in the 1990s.
