The distribution and occupation of the Brazilian lizardfish is found in the areas of Eastern Atlantic, Mauritania, Senegal, Gabon, Angola, Ascension Island, Western Atlantic, North Carolina, the United States, Santa Catarina, Brazil, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean.
