Ituni is a village in the interior of Guyana, at an altitude of 100 metres (331 feet). The area grew as a result of bauxite mining in the area.
Splashmins Fun Park and Resort is an amusement park near Georgetown, Guyana. It is located on the Soesdyke-Linden Highway. The theme park features shows, plant life and beaches. The park is built on one hundred and sixty four acres of amidst numerous species of flora and a variety of fauna which include bird life. Splashmin is a privately owned resort.
Miss World 1991, the 41st edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 28 December 1991 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The winner was Ninibeth Leal representing Venezuela. She was crowned by Gina Tolleson of the United States. Miss World 1991 was scheduled to be held in the Dominican Republic. Due to scheduling difficulties, Miss World was first moved to Puerto Rico, then to Atlanta, United States. Preliminary swimsuits in Miss World 1991 were held in South Africa. It was the first time the Miss World pageant was held in North America. This is the fourth time that Venezuela to win Miss World.
Miss International 2008, the 48th Miss International pageant, was held on November 8, 2008 at The Venetian Macao in Macau, the presenters are Eric Tsang, Dodo Cheng, Astrid Chan. 63 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown, marking the biggest turnout in the 48 years of the pageant, surpassing the previous of 61 during last year pageant. The contestants also paid a visit to Hong Kong, Tokyo. Miss International 2007, Priscila Perales of Mexico, crowned her successor Alejandra Andreu of Spain as the new Miss International.

She was named Miss Guyana in 2011, but she was unable to obtain a visa in time to participate in the Miss World 2011 pageant, so her entry was deferred to the following year's international competition. She met with Bharrat Jagdeo, President of Guyana, after having won the national competition. At the Miss World 2012 pageant, Cameron won the People's Choice Award. It is traditional for beauty queens to be tall in order to better showcase their legs, but Cameron was one of several contestants at Miss World 2012 who were petite. The pageant was held in China and Cameron praised Chinese architecture while she was there. The Guyana Tri-State Alliance provided Cameron with three cocktail dresses for the competition. That July, Cameron appeared at the JRG Bikini Under the Bridge Fashion Show in New York City, New York, United States. Her reign as Miss Guyana lasted until 2013.
