Carolina, formerly Deer Creek, is a ghost town in Falls County, Texas, United States. [1]
Carolina was one of the first settlements west of the Brazos River. A post office called Deer Creek was opened in 1852, but was later renamed to Carolina because many of the settlers were originally from North Carolina. The first Presbyterian Church of Falls County was established in Carolina in 1854 after moving from nearby Cameron, Texas. The post office was closed in 1873 after the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway moved the stop in the late 1880s. The community was abandoned by the 1930s. [2]

McKinney Falls State Park is a state park in Austin, Texas, United States at the confluence of Onion Creek and Williamson Creek. It is administered by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The park opened on April 15, 1976 and is named after Thomas F. McKinney, a businessman, race horse breeder and rancher, who owned and lived on the land in the mid-to-late 19th century. The park is part of the El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail.

Mormon Mill is a vanished Mormon colony established in 1851 on Hamilton Creek in Burnet County, in the U.S. state of Texas. The site is located on Mormon Mills Road 5 miles (8.0 km) north of Marble Falls and 10 miles (16 km) south of Burnet. Mormon Mill has also been known as Mormon Mills, Mormon Mill Colony and Mormon Mill Historical Site. Designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1936, Marker number 9733. The population moved to another county in 1853, and no buildings remain of the colony.
Peach Creek is a ghost town in Wharton County in the U.S. state of Texas. The former settlement was located along Peach Creek in the land grants belonging to Old Three Hundred settlers William Kincheloe and Alexander Jackson, Sr. During the Republic of Texas a post office was located at Peach Creek. Though it was hoped the community might become the county seat, that never happened and postal service stopped in 1847.
