The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is a state-operated mass transit administration in Maryland, and is part of the Maryland Department of Transportation. The MTA operates a comprehensive transit system throughout the Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area. There are 80 bus lines serving the Baltimore Metropolitan Area, along with rail services that include the Light Rail, Metro Subway, and MARC Train. In 2023, the system had a ridership of 52,922,000, or about 186,900 per weekday as of the first quarter of 2024.
West Baltimore station is a commuter rail station located in the western part Baltimore, Maryland, along the Northeast Corridor. It is served by MARC Penn Line trains. The station is positioned on an elevated grade at 400 Smallwood Street near parallel West Mulberry and West Franklin Streets extending off U.S. Route 40. Three large surface lots are available for commuters. The station only has staircases from street level and two low-level side platforms next to the outer tracks and is thus not accessible to people with some mobility disabilities, but MTA Maryland plans to renovate the station with accessible platforms and entrances.
The Baltimore Metro SubwayLink is a rapid transit line serving Baltimore, Maryland, and its northwestern suburbs, operated by the Maryland Transit Administration. The segment in Downtown Baltimore is underground, while most of the line outside the central city is elevated or at surface grade. In 2023, the line had a ridership of 1,988,300, or about 14,400 per weekday as of the first quarter of 2024.
CityLink Navy is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore. It replaced Route 1 in 2017. The bus route is the successor to the 1 Gilmor Street, 2 Carey Street, and 2 Fort Avenue streetcar lines.
Route 51 is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore and its suburbs. The line currently runs from the center of Towson to the Inner Harbor in Downtown Baltimore, serving the Charles Street corridor. Route 51 replaced Route 11 on June 18, 2017 due to the BaltimoreLink bus system overhaul.
Route 7 was a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore. The line, which operated between 1959 and 2017, ran from Canton, Baltimore to the Mondawmin Metro Subway Station, serving the communities of Butcher's Hill, Little Italy, and Sandtown-Winchester.
CityLink Purple is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore and its suburbs. The line currently runs from the Wal-Mart parking lot in Catonsville to Bullneck Road/Turner's Station Dundalk mostly along the corridors of Frederick Road on the west side and Eastern Avenue on the east side, serving the communities of Yale Heights, Pigtown, downtown Baltimore, Fells Point, and Highlandtown.
Route 15 is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore and its suburbs. The line currently runs from Security Square Mall, Westview Mall, Windsor Hills, or Walbrook Junction through downtown Baltimore and northeast to Overlea, with selected peak hour express trips to Perry Hall. The main roads on which it operates include Security Boulevard, Windsor Mill Road, Forest Park Avenue, Poplar Grove Street, Edmondson Avenue, Saratoga Street, Gay Street, and Belair Road, and is one of the most heavily used bus routes operated by the MTA.
LocalLink Route 56 is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore and its suburbs. The line runs between the Park and Ride station in White Marsh and Charles Center in Downtown Baltimore. In June 2017, LocalLink 56 replaced the former local bus Route 35, which connected the city's downtown area with White Marsh, to the east of the city, and UMBC to the west. Route 35 was the successor to the No. 3 Wilkens Avenue and No, 6 Monument Street streetcar lines.
Mondawmin station is a Metro SubwayLink station in Baltimore, Maryland. It is located under the intersection of Reisterstown Road and Liberty Heights Avenue in the Mondawmin neighborhood, adjacent to the Mondawmin Mall. It is the northernmost underground station on the line, and a major transfer point to many bus routes.

There are currently 76 bus routes, which include 45 LocalLink routes, 12 High Frequency CityLink Routes routes, 8 express bus routes, 19 commuter bus routes, and 5 Intercounty Connector or "ICC" routes. The local and commuter bus routes operate in conjunction with one subway line, three light rail lines, MARC train service, and various connections to other transit agencies.
Lexington Market station is an underground Metro SubwayLink station in Baltimore, Maryland. It is one of 14 stops in the downtown Baltimore area. The station is a transportation hub, a designated transfer station to the Light RailLink Lexington Market station. The station is also served by a number of bus lines.
Shot Tower station is an underground Metro SubwayLink station in Baltimore, Maryland. It is in the central part of the city, in close proximity to many well-known landmarks, including the Shot Tower for which it is named, Port Discovery, Power Plant Live!, the Harbor campus of Baltimore City Community College, the National Aquarium, the Flag House, and Little Italy. The station has two street-level entrances, but unlike other Baltimore Metro stations that do, both these entrances share a common gate inside the station. The Shot Tower station is one of two stops in the third phase of the Baltimore Metro, having opened in 1995. Originally named Shot Tower/Market Place to showcase the proximity to the Market Place development, MTA Maryland dropped Market Place from its title with the 2017 rebranding of BaltimoreLink.
Johns Hopkins Hospital station is an underground Metro SubwayLink station in Baltimore, Maryland. It is located by Johns Hopkins Hospital, and is the final stop on the line.
LocalLink 22 is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore. The line currently operates between the Mondawmin Metro Subway Station and Bayview Medical Center, serving Television Hill, the Woodberry Light Rail Stop, Hampden, The Rotunda, Homewood, Johns Hopkins University, Waverly, Belair-Edison, and Highlandtown.
LocalLink 83 is a bus route in Baltimore and its suburbs. The line currently runs from the Old Court Metro Subway Station in Pikesville, Maryland to the Mondawmin Metro Subway Station in Northwest Baltimore along Old Court Road and Reisterstown Road, serving the communities of Park Heights and the Reisterstown Road Plaza. The line is the successor to Bus Route 7, which still operates south of Mondawmin. Route 7 operated along Reisterstown Road outside the Metro's hours of operation until 2001.
The Yellow Line is a mass transit line proposed by the Baltimore Regional Rail Plan in March 2002 for the Baltimore, Maryland area. It would begin at Columbia Town Center in Columbia, Maryland, and end in Hunt Valley, Maryland at Shawan Road.
