Agneepath is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language action crime film produced by Hiroo Yash Johar and Karan Johar under Dharma Productions and directed by Karan Malhotra in his directorial debut. Adaptation of the 1990 film of the same name directed by Mukul S. Anand and starring Amitabh Bachchan, it centers on a screenplay written by Malhotra and Ila Dutta Bedi, with dialogues written by Piyush Mishra. The film stars Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Kanika Tiwari, Om Puri and Zarina Wahab. Similar to the original, In the film, Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, a common man from the island village of Mandwa who seeks revenge for his father's humiliation and murder at the hands of Kancha Cheena ; in the process, he befriends Rauf Lala, an underworld gangster, and falls in love with a loquacious girl, Kaali Gawde.

The music was composed by the duo Ajay–Atul, and features the songs "Kombadi Palali" and "Ye Go Ye Ye Maina", the melodies of which were repurposed for "Chikni Chameli" and "Mera Naam Mary Hai" from the Hindi films Agneepath and Brothers respectively; both films were remakes directed by Karan Malhotra for Dharma Productions.

"Yad Lagla" was remade in Hindi as "Pehli Baar" for the Sairat's Hindi remake Dhadak, starred Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor. The Times of India included song in their list of Top 10 Marathi romantic songs.

The song was composed and written by Ajay-Atul, picturised on Bhau Kadam, and Sai Tamhankar, along with Girish Kulkarni, who also directed the film. It was remade in Hindi with the same title, for the 2024 movie Madgaon Express.
