Colwellia is a genus of deep-sea psychrophilic, piezophilic, and facultative anaerobic bacteria from the family Colwelliaceae. ^{[1] [2] [3] [4] [5]} Colwellia can survive at subzero temperatures by producing cryoprotective polymeric substances. ^[6]
