Compass One (formerly known as Compass Point) is a suburban shopping mall located in the town centre of Sengkang, Singapore. The mall was built as an integrated development together with a condominium, Compass Heights which is located adjacent to the mall. Originally opened on 1 August 2002, [1] the mall closed for extensive renovation works on 26 October 2015 and re-opened on 1 September 2016.
Compass Point was built as an integrated development together with the adjacent Sengkang MRT/LRT station and Compass Heights condominium. [2] [3] Constructed at a cost of S$230 million, [4] [5] the shopping mall started operations on 1 August 2002. [1] The shopping centre was the first major mall to open on the North East line. [4]
Before the renovation works, the mall was Singapore's first thematic suburban shopping mall based on the theme of learning. Educational panels and informative posters are mounted on railings and walls, which feature interesting trivia based on particular themes updated periodically. After getting feedback from the public and commissioning a survey of residents in the area, conducted by international property adviser DTZ Debenham Tie Leung Limited, the mall's developer, Centrepoint Properties, proposed the learning theme for the shopping mall to cater to the predominantly young families of Sengkang New Town. [4] [6] [7] The shopping mall had an approximate retail area of 269,098 square feet (25,000.0 m2). Retail space was spread out over four storeys and a basement. Each storey of the shopping centre was named after the five major continents, with motifs showing different aspects of that continent, such as flora and sea transport vessels: Oceania (basement storey); Asia (ground floor); Europe (2nd storey); The Americas (3rd); and Africa (4th).
In December 2015, it was announced that real estate fund manager M&G Real Estate will become the sole owner of Compass Point mall in Sengkang, after entering into a deed to acquire the remaining 18.99 percent of shares owned by Frasers Centrepoint. The buyout was finalised in February 2016 and M&G Real Estate announced that the mall will reopen on 1 September 2016 after upon completion of the upgrading works under a new name and new management. [8] The mall was called 1 Sengkang Mall after a competition on Facebook with the winner getting $1000 in cash with the most 'likes', [9] but was officially renamed Compass One by the management after the public wanted to stick to the original name. Compass One reopened on 1 September 2016 with a new interior design, 180 speciality tenants and a redesigned interior layout. The Sengkang Public Library, which opened on 18 March 2017, occupies a portion of Levels 3 and 4. There will also be a play deck comprising a wet and dry playground at Level 4. The returning tenants are Cold Storage, Kopitiam and Japan Home. Additionally, Rubi Shoes opened one store in Compass One at the same opening, together with Cotton On Body and Cotton On. In 2022 the Cold Storage at Compass One was refurbished with a new logo and a new look
Compass One Shopping Mall is located next to the Sengkang MRT/LRT station, Sengkang Bus Interchange and Compassvale Bus Interchange.
Pasir Ris is a planning area and residential town located in the East Region of Singapore. It is bordered by Tampines and Paya Lebar to the south, Sengkang to the southwest and Changi to the east. The Sengkang LRT line is a 10.7-kilometre (6.6 mi) automated guideway transit line in Singapore. The line, which initially opened on 18 January 2003, connects the residential districts and suburbs of Sengkang to Sengkang Town Centre, where it connects with the North East MRT line, Sengkang Bus Interchange, Compass One and Compassvale Bus Interchange. It is the second line of the LRT system in Singapore and like all other LRT lines, it is fully elevated and uses automated trains. It is the first LRT line to be operated by SBS Transit.
The Light Rail Transit (LRT) is a series of localised automated guideway transit systems acting as feeder services to the heavy rail Mass Rapid Transit, which together forms the core of Singapore's rail transport services. The first LRT line was opened in 1999 and the system has since expanded to three lines, each serving a public housing estate, namely Bukit Panjang LRT line, Sengkang LRT line and Punggol LRT line. Trains on these lines have at least one station interchange link to the MRT.

Fernvale is a neighbourhood of Sengkang New Town in Singapore. It is located between Sungei Punggol and the proposed Sengkang West Industrial Estate. The house numbers of the public apartment blocks in Fernvale begin with the number '4' (4xx). Fernvale is the newest neighbourhood in Sengkang Town to be completed by the Housing and Development Board (HDB). Seletar Mall, a new shopping amenity which houses Sengkang's first cineplex, is located within this neighbourhood. In 2017, A proposed community facility to be located next to Seletar Mall was announced, which houses a community club, childcare centre, hawker centre and wet market. The community facility which was slated to be ready by the second half of 2020, had stopped construction in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 measures set by the government. Construction of the facility has since continued in the second half of 2020 and is slated to be completed by Q4 2021.
Sengkang is a planning area and residential town located in the North-East Region of Singapore. The town is the second most populous in the region, being home to 249,370 residents in 2020. Sengkang shares boundaries with Seletar and Punggol in the north, Pasir Ris and Paya Lebar in the east, Hougang and Serangoon to the south, as well as Yishun and Ang Mo Kio to the west.

Sengkang Bus Interchange is a bus interchange located on the ground level of Compass Heights condominium in the town centre of Sengkang New Town, Singapore. Located next to Sengkang MRT/LRT station, it is the second bus interchange in Singapore to be air conditioned. It was opened on 18 January 2003.

It is an interchange between the North East line (NEL) and Sengkang LRT (SKLRT). Along with Buangkok station, it is one of the two MRT stations located within the Sengkang planning area.
Choa Chu Kang MRT/LRT station is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) interchange station in Choa Chu Kang, Singapore. It is an interchange between the North South line and Bukit Panjang LRT, serving as the western terminus of the latter. The station is located between Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange and Lot One in the Choa Chu Kang town centre.
Waterway Point is a suburban shopping mall located in the town centre of Punggol New Town, Singapore, next to Punggol MRT/LRT station. The mall was built as part of Punggol's first integrated waterfront residential and retail development, Watertown. It is the first mall in Singapore to be integrated with a town square and a visitors’ centre which provides an avenue for residents and the public to learn more about the heritage of Punggol through exhibitions and civic and community events. The mall had a soft launch on 18 January 2016, and was officially opened on 19 April that year.
Compassvale Bus Interchange, located opposite Sengkang Bus Interchange, is a bus interchange in Sengkang, Singapore, built to increase the capacity of the existing interchange. It is bordered by Compassvale Road, Sengkang East Way and Sengkang Square. Despite its name, it is not located near the LRT station with the same name, but is actually named after the road which it is located at, Compassvale Road near Sengkang MRT/LRT station.
Sengkang Public Library is a public library owned by the National Library Board situated inside Compass One in Sengkang New Town, and it occupies levels 3 and 4. It is near Sengkang Bus Interchange and the Sengkang MRT/LRT station.
