Corani (from Aymara Qurani, meaning "the one with herbs") is one of ten districts of the Carabaya Province in Peru. [1]
The southern section of the Willkanuta mountain range traverses the district. Some of the highest peaks of the district are listed below: [2]
The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (96.64%) learnt to speak in childhood, 3.03% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census). [3]
