San Antonio District or San Antonio de Esquilache District is one of fifteen districts of the Puno Province in the Puno Region of Peru. [1]
The districts of Peru are the third-level country subdivisions of Peru. They are subdivisions of the provinces, which in turn are subdivisions of the larger regions or departments. There are 1,838 districts in total.
Puno is a province in the Puno Region, in southeastern Peru. It borders the provinces of Huancane, San Román, El Collao and the Moquegua Region's province of General Sánchez Cerro. Its capital is the city of Puno, which is located at the edge of Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake. It is the economic powerhouse of the region.

Chuqipata is a mountain in the Andes of southern Peru, about 5,050 metres (16,568 ft) high. It is situated on the border of the Moquegua Region, General Sánchez Cerro Province, Ichuña District, and the Puno Region, Puno Province, in the districts Pichacani and San Antonio. It lies northwest of the mountain Churi Wiqu, northeast of Millu and southeast of Tankani.
Jat'u K'achi is a mountain in the Andes of southern Peru, about 5,200 metres (17,060 ft) high. It is located on the border of the Moquegua Region, General Sánchez Cerro Province, Ichuña District, and the Puno Region, Puno Province, San Antonio District. Jat'u K'achi lies west of the mountain Chuqipata, northeast of Millu and southeast of Pura Purani.
Millu is a mountain in the Andes of southern Peru, about 5,225 metres (17,142 ft) high. It is located on the border of the Moquegua Region, General Sánchez Cerro Province, Ichuña District, and the Puno Region, Puno Province, San Antonio District. It lies southwest of the mountain Chuqipata.
The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (85.94%) learnt to speak in childhood, 8.60% of the residents started speaking using the Aymara language and 5.46% learnt Spanish as the first language (2007 Peru Census).
