David Alexander Gibbs (born January 10, 1968) is an American football coach and former player. He was most recently the defensive coordinator for Texas Tech University, a position he held since January 2015. Gibbs previously served in a similar capacity at the University of Minnesota, Auburn University, and the University of Houston, as well as an assistant coach in the National Football League (NFL) for the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans.
Gibbs began his playing career at Auburn High School, in Auburn, Alabama, while his father was offensive coordinator at nearby Auburn University. Gibbs went on to attend the University of Colorado, where he was a four-year letterman at defensive back from 1986 through 1990. He was named to the Academic All-Big Eight team as a senior, leading the Buffaloes to the 1990 national championship under coach Bill McCartney.
After graduating from Colorado, Gibbs served as a graduate assistant at the University of Oklahoma and at Colorado. In 1995, he became the secondary coach at the University of Kansas under head coach Glen Mason. When Mason was appointed head coach at the University of Minnesota in 1997, Gibbs was hired as the Golden Gophers' defensive coordinator, the youngest coordinator in Division I-A at that time.Gibbs improved a Minnesota defense that had ranked last in the Big Ten Conference in 1996 to one that was ranked eighth in the nation in pass and scoring defense by 1999.
From 2001 through 2004, Gibbs coached defense for the Denver Broncos, which by 2003 was rated the fourth strongest defense in the NFL. In 2005, he returned to Auburn to be defensive coordinator for Auburn University, where his defense ranked sixth in the NCAA in scoring defense and led the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in sacks.Gibbs became defensive backs coach for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2006.
Gibbs was hired as defensive backs coach by the Houston Texans in January 2009.Following the 2010 season, the Texans fired him along with defensive coordinator Frank Bush. After a one-year hiatus from coaching, he spent 2012 coaching defensive backs for the Virginia Destroyers of the United Football League (UFL).
Gibbs accepted the position of defensive coordinator at the University of Houston on January 15, 2013. He resigned that position on January 5, 2015 after coaching the biggest winning fourth quarter comeback in bowl history at the 2015 Armed Forces Bowl with the score of 35–34. On January 5, 2015 Gibbs was hired for the same position at Texas Tech.He was Texas Tech's sixth defensive coordinator since 2009.
Gibbs is the son of Alex Gibbs, a longtime NFL assistant coach.

Wade Phillips is an American football coach. He has served as head coach of the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, and Dallas Cowboys. He has also served as interim head coach for the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, and the Houston Texans. His career winning percentage as a head coach is .546. Additionally, Phillips has long been considered to be among the best defensive coordinators in the NFL. In his long career, he has served as defensive coordinator in eight separate stints with seven different franchises. Multiple players under Phillips' system have won Defensive Player of the Year, including Reggie White, Bryce Paup, Bruce Smith, J. J. Watt and Aaron Donald. Others have won Defensive Rookie of the Year, including Mike Croel and Shawne Merriman.
Ernest Dominic Capers is an American football coach who is a senior defensive assistant for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He was the inaugural head coach of the Carolina Panthers and the Houston Texans for four seasons each. Capers is the only head coach to lead two different NFL expansion teams during their first seasons.
Romeo Crennel is an American football coach. He most recently served as the interim head coach for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL) in 2020. He previously served as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs, as well an assistant coach for six NFL teams and four college teams. He also has over 40 years of coaching experience, which has included consistently being employed as a coach for all but two seasons since 1970, only taking the 2009 and 2013 seasons off following both of his tenures as a head coach. He has five Super Bowl wins as assistant coach, two with the New York Giants and three with the New England Patriots.
Jim Bates is a former American football coach in the National Football League, most recently serving as defensive coordinator of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He primarily ran a 4-3 scheme, using fast, undersized linebackers. Bates served as interim head coach for the Miami Dolphins during the 2004 NFL season.
Gary Wayne Kubiak is a former American football coach and quarterback. He served as head coach for the NFL's Houston Texans from 2006 to 2013 and of the Denver Broncos in 2015 and 2016 before stepping down from the position on January 1, 2017, citing health reasons. Earlier in his coaching career, he served as an assistant coach for the Broncos, Texas A&M University and San Francisco 49ers. He was also the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens in 2014. He last served as the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings in 2020.
Kliff Timothy Kingsbury is an American football coach and former player who is the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). During his playing career, Kingsbury held many NCAA Division I passing records and was also part of the New England Patriots Super Bowl XXXVIII winning team from 2003 that beat the Carolina Panthers. On January 8, 2019, the Cardinals hired him as their head coach, replacing Steve Wilks.
Kyle Michael Shanahan is an American football coach who is the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins and Houston Texans. With the Falcons in 2016, he coordinated an offense that led the league in points scored and helped the team reach Super Bowl LI. Shanahan was hired as the head coach by the 49ers in 2017, replacing Chip Kelly. In his third season with the team, Shanahan led the 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance in Super Bowl LIV.
Ronald L. Bradford is a former defensive back who played for the NFL's Denver Broncos (1993–1995), Arizona Cardinals (1996), Atlanta Falcons (1997–2001) and Minnesota Vikings. He also served as a defensive assistant coach for the Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs. Bradford was also the defensive backs coach at USC.
Rick Steven Dennison is an American football coach and former player who is the offensive line coach and run game coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). An assistant in the NFL since 1995, he served as offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos, Houston Texans (2010–2013), and Buffalo Bills (2017), and served as quarterbacks coach for the Baltimore Ravens in 2014. He was the special teams coach for the Super Bowl Champion Broncos in 1997 and 1998. A linebacker who spent his entire NFL playing career in Denver from 1982 to 1990, he appeared in Super Bowls XXI, XXII, and XXIV.
Reginald Wayne Herring is an American football coach and former player who is currently the linebackers coach for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). A former linebacker at Florida State University, he began his coaching career in 1981. He has now coached for 36 years across college and the NFL. Herring arrived in Denver to coach linebackers in 2015 after previous stops in the league with Chicago (2014), Houston and Dallas (2008-10). Herring has coached nine linebackers who have made Pro Bowl appearances during their careers, including outside linebackers DeMarcus Ware (9), Mario Williams (4), and Connor Barwin (1), and inside linebackers Zach Thomas (7), Keith Brooking (5), Lance Briggs (7), Brian Cushing (1), Sean Lee (2) and DeMeco Ryans (2). Herring also served as the interim head football coach for the University of Arkansas in the 2008 Cotton Bowl Classic.

Mark Thomas Stoops is an American college football coach and former player. He is the head football coach of the University of Kentucky football team. Stoops previously served as defensive coordinator at the University of Arizona from 2004 to 2009 and Florida State University from 2010 to 2012.
Jeff Grimes is an American football coach who is currently the offensive coordinator at Baylor University. He was previously the offensive coordinator at Brigham Young University (BYU) from 2017 to 2020, Louisiana State University's (LSU) offensive line coach and run game coordinator from 2014 to 2017, and the offensive line coach at both Virginia Tech in 2013 and Auburn University from 2009 to 2012. Vance Desmond Joseph is an American football coach and former player who is the defensive coordinator of the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). Previously he was the head coach of the Denver Broncos. As a player, Joseph attended the University of Colorado as a quarterback and running back in the 1990s, and was signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 1995, playing cornerback for them and then the Indianapolis Colts in 1996. With 19 years of coaching experience at the professional and collegiate levels, Joseph was hired by the Broncos after spending 12 years as a defensive coach in the NFL with San Francisco (2005–10), Houston (2011–13), Cincinnati (2014–15) and Miami (2016). Between 2017 and 2018, he was the head coach of the Denver Broncos. Joseph was the second African American head coach in Broncos history, after Eric Studesville was interim head coach for 4 games in 2010, and their first African American head coach on a permanent basis.
Victor Mick Fangio is an American football coach who is the head coach of the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). A 41-year coaching veteran with 33 seasons of NFL experience, Fangio was a defensive coordinator for 20 of the last 24 seasons at the NFL or college level before becoming the Broncos’ head coach. He served as the Chicago Bears' defensive coordinator from 2015–18 after leading the defenses for the San Francisco 49ers (2011–14), Stanford University (2010), Houston Texans (2002–05), Indianapolis Colts (1999–2001) and Carolina Panthers (1995–98).
John Lovett is an American football coach who last worked as the cornerbacks coach for the California Golden Bears football team. He was the defensive backs coach for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL) from 2013–2014. He was the defensive coordinator for Maine in 1994, Auburn from 1999–2001, Clemson from 2002–2004, Bowling Green from 2005–2006, and Miami from 2009–2010.

As a player, Gideon started all 52 games at safety during his college football career at The University of Texas at Austin, which ranks second in school history. Afterwards, he played professionally for the Arizona Cardinals and the Denver Broncos of the NFL.

A coaching veteran of 26 years, Woods has previously served as an assistant coach for the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During his NFL coaching career, Woods has coached seven players to 13 total Pro Bowl selections.
Robert Saleh is an American football coach who is the head coach of the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the defensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers from 2017 to 2020 and has also served as an assistant coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans.
Klint Alexander Kubiak is an American football coach who is the offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as an assistant coach for the Denver Broncos. Kubiak is an eight-year coaching veteran, and has worked four seasons apiece in the NFL and college ranks following his playing career at Colorado State University. He is the son of the Vikings assistant head coach Gary Kubiak, who previously led the Denver Broncos to a victory in Super Bowl 50.
