Dichelyne is a genus of nematodes belonging to the family Cucullanidae. [1]
The genus has almost cosmopolitan distribution. [1]
Species: [1]
Galactosomum is a genus of flukes in the family Heterophyidae. There are currently 28 recognised species within the genus. They mainly infect aquatic birds, but often infest fish as larvae. Three species are known to use marine mammals as hosts.
The thorny-headed worm family Polymorphidae contains endoparasites which as adults feed mainly in fish and aquatic birds. When this taxon was erected by Meyer in 1931, a subfamily Polymorphinae was established in it. As the Polymorphidae as presently understood would then be monotypic, with no basal genera outside the Polymorphinae, the proposed subfamily is redundant for the time being and therefore most modern treatments simply omit it. Polymorphus minutus is an economically significant parasite in goose and duck farming.
Echinorhynchus is a genus of acanthocephalan parasitic worms. They parasitize a wide variety of fishes from both marine and fresh waters. The intermediate host is usually a crustacean.
Centrorhynchidae is a family of parasitic worms. Three species of these thorny-headed worms in the genus Centrorhynchus were found to parasitize birds of prey and owls Slovakia. These hosts include Buteo buteo, Buteo rufinus, Falco tinnunculus, Asio otus, Strix aluco, Strix uralensis and Tyto alba.
Arhythmacanthidae is a family of parasitic worms from the order Echinorhynchida.
Neoechinorhynchidae is a family of parasitic worms from the order Neoechinorhynchida.
Rhadinorhynchidae is a family of parasitic worms from the order Echinorhynchida.
Plagiorhynchidae is a family of parasitic Acanthocephalan worms.
Opecoelidae is a family of trematodes. It is the largest digenean family with over 90 genera and nearly 900 species, almost solely found in marine and freshwater teleost fishes. It was considered by Bray et al. to belong in the superfamily Opecoeloidea Ozaki, 1925 or the Brachycladioidea Odhner, 1905.
Philometra is a genus of nematodes, which are parasites of marine and freshwater fishes. The genus was erected by Oronzio Gabriele Costa in 1845.
Pseudorhabdosynochus is a genus of monopisthocotylean monogeneans, included in the family Diplectanidae. The type-species of the genus is Pseudorhabdosynochus epinepheli .
Lagenivaginopseudobenedenia is a genus of monopisthocotylean monogenean, included in the family Capsalidae. The type-species of the genus is Lagenivaginopseudobenedenia etelisYamaguti, 1966. The genus includes only 2 species, which are both parasitic on the gills of marine fish of the family Lutjanidae.
Cucullanus is a genus of parasitic nematodes. The genus includes more than 100 species.
Helicometra is a genus of trematodes in the class Opecoelidae. It is synonymous with AllostenoperaBaeva, 1968, MetahelicometraYamaguti, 1971, and StenoperaManter, 1933. Its type species is H. fasciata(Rudolphi, 1819). They are distinguished by their unique spiral uterus, from which their name is derived.
František Moravec is a Czech parasitologist who specialised on the Nematodes, especially the nematodes parasites of fishes. His research was mainly in the field of taxonomy of the Nematoda.
Ascarophis is a genus of parasitic nematodes, belonging to the family Cystidicolidae. Species of Ascarophis are parasitic as adults in the gastrointestinal tract of marine and estuarine fishes.
Bothriocephalus is a genus of flatworms belonging to the family Bothriocephalidae.
Synhimantus is a genus of nematodes belonging to the family Acuariidae.
Falcaustra is a genus of nematodes belonging to the family Kathlaniidae.
