Ticket sale data between April–July 2013 shows that the average number of passengers buying tickets at Dombivli was 2.18 lakh. [1]

It used to be a British railway colony, and one can find old bungalows of railways. It also houses a railway institute and the "Chola Power House" which was a steam based power plant which powered the railway substation nearby.

Line 5 (Mumbai Metro)

Orange Line 5 of the Mumbai Metro, or the Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan Line, is part of the metro system for the city of Mumbai, India. This line construction is divided into two phases. Phase 1 will cover the metro route from Thane to Bhiwandi, and Phase 2 will cover the other stretch from Bhiwandi to Kalyan. In a recent update on March 2022, MMRDA has come up with a new plan to build a 3KM underground track to prevent the demolition of thousands of structures. The new plan for phase 2 will also increase the project’s overall cost by ₹1,727 Cr.

Line 12 (Mumbai Metro)

Orange Line 12 (Extension), or the Kalyan-Dombivli-Taloja Line is a proposed line of Mumbai Metro. It will be an extension of Orange Line. The total length of the line is planned to be 20.75 kilometres (12.89 mi), and the route will be completely elevated. The total cost of the construction is planned to be Rs 4,132 crore. MMRDA approved the Kalyan-Dombivli-Taloja Metro line. There will be 18 stations. This line will connect Navi Mumbai city with Kalyan-Dombivali city.
