Dominic Laurence Johnson (born October 31, 1975) is a St Lucian retired athlete competing in the pole vault. Early in his career, he competed in the decathlon.

His personal best result is 5.70 metres, achieved in 2000. This is the current St Lucian record. He also holds the St Lucian records in decathlon, 110 metres hurdles, 4 x 100 metres relay and 4 x 400 metres relay. In 1998, Dominic established his national indoor record of 5.55 m in Flagstaff, Arizona. [1] A graduate of University of Arizona, he has been described by then-coach Dave Murray as "the best all around athlete we've ever had at the university." [2] Dominic, a past Sportsman of the Year recipient in St Lucia, won a silver medal for St Lucia at the 2008 CAC Championships in Cali, Colombia. In collaboration with journalist Terry Finisterre, Dominic also set up a College Athletic Scholarship Program, which benefitted more than 30 St. Lucian athletes, one of who went on to become a 2004 Olympian.

Saint Lucia sent a delegation to compete at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. The 2008 Saint Lucian team included four athletes that competed in two sports: swimming and athletics. Of these four athletes, Danielle Beaubrun, at age 18, was the youngest of the competitors. Dominic Johnson, at age 32, was the oldest, and was the only man sent as part of the 2008 delegation; additionally, Johnson was the only Saint Lucian athlete in the 2008 delegation who had previously participated in the Olympics.

John Kenneth Doherty was an American decathlon champion, college track and field coach, author and longtime director of the Penn Relays. While a student at the University of Michigan, Doherty won the American decathlon championship in 1928 and 1929 and won the bronze medal in the event at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam. He later served as a track coach at Princeton University (1929–1930), the University of Michigan (1930–1948), and the University of Pennsylvania (1948–1957). He was also the meet director for the Penn Relays from 1956 to 1969 and of the first dual track meet between the United States and the Soviet Union in 1959. He was also a published author of works on track coaching, and his Track & Field Omnibook was regarded as "the track coach's bible" from the 1970s through the 1990s.
