Completed in 1899, it is a distinctive local example of Queen Anne architecture, and was home for a time to physicist Robert Kraichnan. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 15, 1983.
The Stone Jail Building and Row House are two adjacent stone buildings located on Water Street in Tonopah, Nevada. The jail was built in 1903 and the adjacent row house in 1908. Both building were at one time used as a brothel. The buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
Zions Hill, also known as the Ralph Owen Brewster House, and now the Brewster Inn, is a historic house at 37 Zions Hill in Dexter, Maine. The house is a 1930s updating of an 1870s structure to a design by John Calvin Stevens and John Howard Stevens, who also designed the landscaping of the 2-acre (0.81 ha) property. This renovation was done for Ralph Owen Brewster, a prominent Maine politician who served as Governor of Maine and for two terms in the United States Senate, and created one of the major Colonial Revival showcases of interior Maine. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
The Hotel Hurst Garage, also known as the Roberts Garage, was a historic building located in Maquoketa, Iowa, United States. It was built in 1910 by the owner of the Hotel Hurst next door. The owner of the Decker House Hotel had built a similar building two years earlier. The Hurst sold Buicks and the Decker sold Cadillacs. The cars could serve the needs of the hotels' guests, and it provided an automobile rental service as well as automobile sales. It was a single-story brick structure that featured a tri-partite design. The central garage door was flanked by two display windows that showed off the new cars. The decorative elements were reserved to the top of the building, and included a broad brick paneled frieze, brick corbelled cornice, and a metal cornice. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. It has subsequently been torn down.
The Dr. Van Buren Knott House is a historic building located in Sioux City, Iowa, United States. Knott was a prominent local physician. He had Chicago architect Howard Van Doren Shaw design this Colonial Revival-style house, which is considered an excellent example of the style. The 2½-story brick structure features a symmetrical facade, an entrance porch with Doric columns, a Palladian window above the front entrance, a single-story semi-circular room in the back, and a hip roof with dormers. On the south side of the house is a full width porch, with a sleeping porch on the second floor. A pergola in the back leads to a detached two-car garage, which was built a couple of years after the house. The house and garage were listed together on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
