The Humen, also Bocca Tigris or Bogue, is a narrow strait in the Pearl River Delta that separates Shiziyang in the north and Lingdingyang in the south near Humen Town in China's Guangdong Province. It is the site of the Pearl River's discharge into the South China Sea. It contains the Port of Humen at Humen Town. The strait is formed by the islands of Chuenpi and Anunghoy on the eastern side, and Taikoktow on the western side. Since 1997, the strait has been traversed by the Humen Pearl River Bridge. Bocca Tigris was the entry to China's only trading city, Kanton.

The Pearl River Delta Economic Zone, is a special economic zone on the southeastern coast of China. Located in the Pearl River Delta, it consists of the Chinese cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, and parts of Huizhou and Zhaoqing. Adjacent Hong Kong and Macau are not part of the economic zone.

Dongguan Rail Transit or Dongguan Metro is the rapid transit system of the city of Dongguan in Guangdong Province of China. It is operated by the state-owned Dongguan Rail Transit Corporation, Limited. The construction of the first section of Line 2 began on 26 March 2010, opening on 27 May 2016. Current plans call for some lines of the Dongguan Rail Transit to connect with the neighbouring Shenzhen Metro and Guangzhou Metro.

The Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region Intercity Railway System is a regional higher-speed rail and suburban rail network being gradually constructed in the Pearl River Delta, People's Republic of China. The project's goal is to have every major urban center in the Yuegang'ao Greater Bay Area to be within one-hour travel by rail to Guangzhou. On March 16, 2005, the State Council approved plans for a regional high-speed commuter rail network for the Jingjinji, Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta. According to the plan, by 2020, the network will have a total route mileage of about 600 kilometres (370 mi). In September 2009, the plan was expanded to 1,478 km (918 mi) of routes split up into 23 lines. In the long term vision network length will reach 1,890 km (1,170 mi) by 2030. By then the network will provide basic coverage to the Pearl River Delta region. The Suishen ICR, Guanhui ICR and Guangfozhao ICR accept Alipay, avoiding the need to purchase tickets in advance.

Longhua District is a district in Shenzhen, Guangdong, People's Republic of China. It was created as a new district on 30 December 2011, and became a formal district on 11 October 2016.


Foshan–Dongguan intercity railway, also called the Foguan intercity railway, is an under construction regional railway within Guangdong province, China, between the cities of Foshan, via Guangzhou, to Dongguan. It forms one leg of the Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region intercity railway network and will provide connections with the Guangzhou–Shenzhen intercity railway, Dongguan–Huizhou intercity railway and local metro systems. It will connect Panyu District, Guangzhou at the major Guangzhou South interchange, tunnelling under the Pearl River through Machong and Hongmei to Dongguan West providing connections via the Dongguan Rail Transit, the Guangzhou–Shenzhen intercity railway or the Dongguan–Huizhou intercity railway. The length of the railway is 36.681 kilometres. Although this first phase of the project is named Foshan–Dongguan intercity railway, it does not pass through the city of Foshan in any way. The second section of this railway from Panyu to Foshan West has been planned, prepared and the line is under construction as the southern section of Guangzhou–Foshan circular intercity railway.
