The Dyson Group is an Australian operator of buses and coaches in Victoria.

Victoria is a state in south-eastern Australia. Victoria is Australia's smallest mainland state and its second-most populous state overall, thus making it the most densely populated state overall. Most of its population lives concentrated in the area surrounding Port Phillip Bay, which includes the metropolitan area of its state capital and largest city, Melbourne, Australia's second-largest city. Dyson's Bus Services was founded in June 1952 when Laurie Dyson purchased the business of Ned Gastin with route 46A Regent station to Janefield Hospital. Over the years a number of routes and businesses were purchased both within Melbourne and in regional Victoria:

Dyson's Bus Services is a bus and coach operator in Melbourne, Australia. As a Melbourne bus company, it operates 31 bus routes under contract to the Government of Victoria. It is the main subsidiary of the Dyson Group.

Echuca is a town on the banks of the Murray River and Campaspe River in Victoria, Australia. The border town of Moama is adjacent on the northern side of the Murray River in New South Wales. Echuca is the administrative centre and largest settlement in the Shire of Campaspe. At the time of the 2016 census, Echuca had a population of 12,906, and the population of the combined Echuca and Moama townships was 20,424 at June 2016.

Services

As well as route services in Melbourne, since the late 1970s Dyson have operated services under contract to V/Line. In February 1989, all of Dyson's existing long coach services were integrated into the V/Line network. [22] Dyson operate V/Line services as far afield as Batemans Bay, Canberra, Griffith and Adelaide. [23]

V/Line is a government-owned corporation that operates regional passenger train and coach services in Victoria, Australia. It provides passenger train services on 5 commuter lines and 8 long-distance routes from its major hub at Southern Cross railway station in Melbourne, as well as bus services across Victoria and into New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and South Australia. In addition, V/Line is responsible for the maintenance of much of the Victorian freight and passenger rail network, outside of the areas managed by Metro Trains Melbourne and Australian Rail Track Corporation.

Until December 2007, Dyson operated a service in New South Wales between Parkes and Condobolin under contract to CountryLink. [24] In January 2015, Dyson commenced operating five-year contracts to operate services for NSW TrainLink from Wagga Wagga to Griffith, Cootamundra to Tumbarumba, Cootamundra to Bathurst/Dubbo and Parkes to Condobolin. [25] [26]

Parkes railway station

The Parkes railway station is an heritage-listed former locomotive depot and railway station and now locomotive roundhouse and railway station located on the Broken Hill line in May Street, Parkes in the Parkes Shire local government area of New South Wales, Australia. The railway station serves the town of Parkes and was built from 1881 to 1893. It is also known as the Parkes Railway Station group. The property is owned by RailCorp, an agency of the Government of New South Wales. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Condobolin Town in New South Wales, Australia

Condobolin is a town in the west of the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia, on the Lachlan River. At the 2016 census, Condobolin had a population of 3,486.

Fleet

As at March 2015, the Dyson Group fleets consisted of 499+ buses and coaches. Fleet livery is white with green stripes, 30 coaches are painted in V/Line livery and four in NSW TrainLink livery. [27]
