The East Trenton Public Library, in Trenton, New Jersey, was built as the Samuel Dickinson house, c. 1796 at the center of a large farm. In 1926 it became a public library, in which capacity it continues to serve. [2]

Hog Island Cranes United States historic place

The Hog Island Cranes, located in Trenton, New Jersey, are two of twenty-eight locomotive steam gantry cranes built in 1917 by the McMyler-Interstate Company of Cleveland, Ohio for the Hog Island, Philadelphia shipyard. They aided in the American war effort in World War I, are representative of an important era of heavy lifting equipment, and played an important role in 20th century waterfront technology. The two cranes now in Trenton were sold as government surplus in 1930 to the city of Trenton for $5000, a fifth of the original cost, and were installed at the Trenton Marine Terminal in 1932.

Mott School and Second Street School United States historic place

The Mott School and Second Street School are historic former school buildings in Trenton, New Jersey. Together they cover the continuum of education in the area. The Second Street School, formerly known as the Nottingham Township School, was built in 1854 when public education was voluntary and non-standardized. The Mott School was built in stages from 1876-1911 during the era of institutionalization and centralization of public schooling. It continued in use until 1980.

John Abbott II House United States historic place

The John Abbott II House was built ca. 1730 in what is now Hamilton Township, Mercer County, New Jersey. During the American Revolution, Samuel Tucker, the state treasurer, fleeing the British advance on Trenton, removed the money in his care to the home of John Abbott II. The location of the funds was betrayed by Mrs. Mary Pointing, who led a 500-strong detachment of British troops to the house. In ransacking the home, the soldiers discovered Tucker's trunk with his personal effects and £1500 in unsigned paper money. However, the specie money was hidden by the family in the bottom of tubs in the cellar, covered with broken dishes and household utensils. The tubs escaped close inspection and the money was kept from British hands. The house is currently home to the Hamilton Township Historical Society and is open to the public.

Trenton Ferry Historic District United States historic place

The Trenton Ferry Historic District is a historic mixed-use urban working class neighborhood primarily composed of modest row houses, schools, churches, and commercial buildings. The neighborhood has roots in the 18th century but the majority of its fabric dates to the 19th and early 20th centuries. The district has few modern intrusions and has retained its historic character. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 26, 2013. It includes 581 contributing buildings and three contributing sites.
