Ebusco is a Dutch manufacturer of electric buses and accompanying charging infrastructure.
Ebusco was founded in 2012 in Helmond. Here the workshop for two vehicles and the office were located in two different neighborhoods about 3 kilometers apart. This was the reason for moving to Deurne in September 2018, where the company has acquired a production hall of more than 7,000 m2 and sufficient office space.
Since October 22, 2021, Ebusco has been listed on the Euronext in Amsterdam. Major shareholder is founder Bijvelds, after the IPO in October 2021 he held 35.4% of the shares and ING Group is number two with an equity interest of 21%. [3]
In 2024 the company failed to deliver 59 busses to Qbuzz on the agreed upon delivery date. Spare parts for buses already in service could also not be delivered, causing 10% of Qbuzz buses to be out of service. Qbuzz demanded a previously agreed compensation for the late delivery to be paid out. After Ebusco failed to pay out, Qbuzz seized 1.2 million Euro of Ebusco's bank accounts, causing Ebusco to be unable to pay out salaries. [4] In October 2024 Ebusco announced cutbacks in an attempt to avoid bankruptcy, having 33 million outstanding with creditors. [5]
Ebusco 1.0 was produced in 2012. The buses were used for test drives in various European cities.
Ebusco 2.0 is a 12 m long low-floor bus. It was presented to the public for the first time at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2014 in Hanover and has a battery with an energy content of 242 kWh.
Ebusco 2.1 is also a 12 m long bus. The first vehicle was delivered in April 2017. Its battery has an energy content of 311 kWh.
Ebusco 2.2 has been available since 2018 and is produced in three different variants: as LF (Low Floor) with three doors, LE (Low Entry) with two doors both 12 m (39.4 ft) long and an articulated type 18 m (59.1 ft) long.
Ebusco 3.0 was presented at Busworld 2019, should be 33% lighter than its predecessor Ebusco 2.2 and drive up to 500 kilometres on battery charge. The Ebusco 3.0 is the first model to be built entirely in the Netherlands.

An electric bus is a bus that is propelled using electric motors, as opposed to a conventional internal combustion engine. Electric buses can store the needed electrical energy on board, or be fed mains electricity continuously from an external source such as overhead lines. The majority of buses using on-board energy storage are battery electric buses, where the electric motor obtains energy from an onboard battery pack, although examples of other storage modes do exist, such as the gyrobus that uses flywheel energy storage. When electricity is not stored on board, it is supplied by contact with outside power supplies, for example, via a current collector, or with a ground-level power supply, or through inductive charging.

The BYD K-series bus are a line of battery electric buses manufactured by the Chinese automaker BYD, powered with its self-developed lithium iron phosphate battery, featuring a typical operating range of 250 kilometres (160 mi) per charge under urban road conditions. It is available in several different nominal lengths, from 7.0 to 13.7 m and also as a 18 m (60 ft) (articulated) bus. The rear axle is powered by two electric traction motors; the battery capacity and motor power of each model varies depending on the nominal length and passenger capacity.

The Rivian EDV and ECV, also known as the Delivery, are a line of battery-electric cargo vehicles built by Rivian. Initially they were exclusive to its investor Amazon, which uses the EDV for package delivery, but in November 2023, sales were opened to other companies as the ECV / Delivery, with minor cosmetic changes. The EDV and ECV use the RCV platform, which is derived from the R1 platform that underpins the manufacturer's R1T pickup truck and R1S sport-utility vehicles, and is built in three sizes. Specific models include the EDV/ECV-500/Delivery 500, EDV/ECV-700/Delivery 700, and EDV-900.
