Background and recording

"Every Hour" is a gospel track that features no vocals from West, with it consisting of a hymn from the Sunday Service Choir. [1] [2] However, West wrote the song alongside Benjamin Scholefield and Federico Vindver. [3] The Sunday Service Choir director Jason White revealed that he worked on the song. [4]

The song was co-produced by prominent gospel producer "Budgie" whose samples were used in the making of Kanye's earlier track, "On Sight" from Yeezus.

Commercial performance

Upon the release of Jesus Is King, "Every Hour" debuted at number 45 on the US Billboard Hot 100. [5] The song's entry gave the Sunday Service Choir their first appearance on the Hot 100. [6] It performed best in Australia, reaching number 33 on the ARIA Singles Chart. [7]
