Finland is a European Parliament constituency for elections to the European Parliament covering the member state of the European Union Finland. It is currently represented by fifteen Members of the European Parliament.
The 1996 election was the first European election for Finland.

The 1999 European election was the fifth election to the European Parliament and the second for Finland.
The 2004 European election was the sixth election to the European Parliament and the third for Finland. Both the Social Democratic Party of Finland and the Centre Party improved their vote at the expense of the conservative National Coalition Party and the Green League.
The 2009 European election was the seventh election to the European Parliament and the fourth for Finland. The number of seats was decreased to thirteen.
The 2014 European election was the eighth election to the European Parliament and the fifth for Finland. Finland's representation remained at 13 MEPs.
The 2019 European election was the ninth election to the European Parliament and the sixth for Finland. Due to Brexit, Alviina Alametsä became the fourteenth Finnish MEP on February 1, 2020. [1]
The 2024 European election will be the tenth election to the European Parliament and the seventh for Finland. It gained one seat because of the seats being increased from 705 to 720 in the European Parliament. [2]

The apportionment of seats within the European Parliament to each member state of the European Union is set out by the EU treaties. According to European Union treaties, the distribution of seats is "degressively proportional" to the population of the member states, with negotiations and agreements between member states playing a role. Thus the allocation of seats is not strictly proportional to the size of a state's population, nor does it reflect any other automatically triggered or fixed mathematical formula. The process can be compared to the composition of the electoral college used to elect the President of the United States of America in that, pro rata, the smaller state received more places in the electoral college than the more populous states.

The 2019 European Parliament election was the United Kingdom's component of the 2019 European Parliament election. It was held on Thursday 23 May 2019 and the results announced on Sunday 26 and Monday 27 May 2019, after all the other EU countries had voted. The 2021 London Assembly election was held on 6 May 2021 to elect the members of the London Assembly, alongside the 2021 London mayoral election. The mayoral and Assembly elections were originally to be held on 7 May 2020, but on 13 March 2020 it was announced the election would be postponed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the sixth election since the Assembly was established in 2000. Due to the previous term being extended to 5 years, those elected would only serve a three-year term until the next election in 2024. The election was held on the same day in 2021 as other elections in the UK; the UK local elections, Scottish Parliament election, and Welsh Senedd election.
The 2019 European Parliament election in Ireland is the Irish component of the 2019 European Parliament election and was held on Friday, 24 May 2019, on the same day as the 2019 local elections and a referendum easing restrictions on divorce. The election was conducted in three constituencies under the single transferable vote (STV). Thirteen MEPs were elected, but the last candidate elected in both Dublin and South did not take their seats until after Brexit on 31 January 2020.
Reform UK is a right-wing populist political party in the United Kingdom. Founded in November 2018 as the Brexit Party, advocating a no-deal Brexit, it won the 2019 European Parliament election in the UK, but did not win any seats at the 2019 general election. After the UK's withdrawal from the EU in January 2020, it renamed itself Reform UK, and during the COVID-19 pandemic advocated strongly against lockdowns. Since 2022, the party has campaigned on a broader platform, in particular opposing immigration and the government's Net Zero energy policy. Following Farage's resumption of the party leadership in early June during the 2024 general election campaign, opinion pollsters reported an increase in support for the party.
Alexandra Lesley Phillips is a British journalist and former politician. She served as a Brexit Party member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the South East England constituency from 2019 to 2020. She was the second candidate on the party's list for the constituency after party leader Nigel Farage. Phillips was previously head of media at the UK Independence Party (UKIP), which she left in September 2016. She was a GB News presenter between June 2021 and September 2022. In February 2023, Phillips joined Reform UK.
Benyamin Naeem Habib is a British businessman and politician serving as Co-Deputy Leader of Reform UK since 2023, alongside David Bull. He was elected as a Brexit Party Member of the European Parliament (MEP) in the 2019 European parliamentary election. He remained in the role until the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the EU.
Louis Stedman-Bryce is a British care home director, property investor and former politician. He served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for Scotland from 2019 to 2020. He was elected as a Brexit Party candidate but left the party in November 2019 to sit as an independent.
