Elections in Kenya take place within the framework of a multi-party democracy and a presidential system. The President, Senate and National Assembly are directly elected by voters, with elections organised by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Laikipia County is one of the 47 Counties of Kenya, located on the Equator in the former Rift Valley Province of the Country. Laikipia is a cosmopolitan County and is Listed as County number 31. The county has two major urban centres: Nanyuki to the southeast, and Nyahururu to the southwest. Its County government headquarters town is Nanyuki. The National Assembly of the Republic of Kenya is one of the two Houses of the Parliament of Kenya. Between 1966 and 2013, it served as a unicameral house. In 2013, it became the lower house when the Senate was reestablished.
The East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) is a sub-organ of the larger East African Community, being the legislative arm of the Community. Members are sworn into five-year terms.
Kabarnet is a town in Baringo County, Kenya. As of the 2019 census,the town had a population of 22,474 with 10,943 (48.8%) of them being males and 11,531(51.1%) of them being females.

Gregory Mugisha Muntuyera, commonly referred to as Mugisha Muntu, is a Ugandan politician and retired military officer. He is the current President of the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT), a political party he founded in March 2019. He previously served as the President of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), an opposition political party, from 2012 to 2017. In September 2018, General Muntu parted ways with the FDC citing ideological differences with the new FDC leadership of Hon.Patrick Oboi Amuriat. On 27 September 2018 he announced in a televised press conference that he and some other leaders had begun what he called The New Formation which later became the ANT.
Oburu Ng'ong'a Oginga is a Kenyan politician who is currently serving as senator for Siaya County, having been elected in the elections of August 2022. He is an immediate former member for the East African Legislative Assembly, based in Arusha Tanzania. He is the former assistant minister for finance in the 2008 Grand Coalition government and former Member of the Parliament, Kenya.
Peter Gatirau Munya is the immediate former Cabinet Secretary of Kenya's Ministry of Agriculture. He took over the ministry on 14 January 2020 after being transferred from the Ministry of Trade and Industrialization. He also served in the same capacity in the ministry of East African Community and Northern Corridor Development.
Nusura Tiperu Omar is a Ugandan diplomat,politician and former legislator. She currently serves as the ambassador of Uganda to Turkey. She was appointed to that position in December 2021.
Margaret Nantongo Zziwa is a Ugandan politician and legislator. She served as the Speaker of the 3rd East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) in Arusha, Tanzania. She was elected to serve in that capacity in June 2012. She was impeached and voted out of office on 17 December 2014, on the basis of misconduct and abuse of office, but was later awarded compensation for illegal removal.
Fatuma Ibrahim Ali is a Kenyan politician. She has been a Commissioner of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights. Ali was a Member of the 11th Session of the Kenyan Parliament representing the Wajir County. She was elected to the position in March 2013 on an Orange Democratic Movement ticket. She is currently a member of the 4th Assembly, of the East African Legislative Assembly representing Kenya. She is of Somali ethnicity.
Grace Jelagat Kimoi Kipchoim was a Kenyan representative in the National Assembly of Kenya for Baringo South Constituency constituency. She was a coalition member of the Jubilee Alliance and a member of the United Republican Party (URP). She won the legislative seat while ill and did very few mobile campaigns compared to her main challenger, Charles Kamuren (KANU) who garnered 8,905 votes versus her 9,299 votes. Early in 2018, rumours on social media claimed that she had died, but she came out to defend herself and said they were being peddled by her detractors to tarnish her name. However, on 20 April 2018, she died of cancer while under treatment at Nairobi Hospital.
Daniel Fred Kidega is a Ugandan politician and former Speaker of the East African Legislative Assembly, in office from December 2014 until June 2017. As of August 2020, he served as the chairman of Atiak Sugar Factory, in Amuru District, in which the Uganda government owned 40 percent shareholding.
Leontine Nzeyimana is a Burundian politician who has served as Minister of East African Community Affairs, in the Office of the President of Burundi, effective 8 May 2012. She is a member of the Burundian cabinet. Prior to that, from August 2011 until May 2012, she was the elected Member of Parliament for the Province of Makamba.
Kennedy Musyoka Kalonzo is a Kenyan lawyer and politician, who is a member of the fourth East African Legislative Assembly (2017—2022), representing Kenya.

James Mathenge Kanini is a Kenyan politician, popularly known as Kanini Kega. He was the former Member of Parliament for Kieni Constituency representing the Jubilee coalition.
Winnie Irmgard Odinga known as Kazi, is a Kenyan politician serving as an East African Community member of Parliament in the fifth East African Legislative Assembly in Arusha representing the Government of Kenya
