The 1910 general election was held on 24 April and 8 May 1910.
The elections resulted in a victory for the governing coalition of Radicals and Left Republicans, allowing the incumbent premier Aristide Briand to form a second government.
Aristide Briand was a French statesman who served eleven terms as Prime Minister of France during the French Third Republic. He is mainly remembered for his focus on international issues and reconciliation politics during the interwar period (1918–1939).

The 2002 French presidential election consisted of a first round election on 21 April 2002, and a runoff election between the top two candidates on 5 May 2002. This presidential contest attracted a greater than usual amount of international attention because of far-right candidate Le Pen's unexpected appearance in the runoff election.
