Fritz Strobl (born 24 August 1972 in Lienz, Austria) is a former World Cup alpine ski racer.
Strobl was the gold medalist in the downhill at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, run on the Grizzly course at Snowbasin. [1] [2] [3]
In his final season in 2007, he was the silver medalist in the super-G at the World Championships in Åre, Sweden.
Strobl competed on the World Cup circuit for 15 seasons and recorded 9 victories: seven in downhill and two in super-G. He had 31 podium finishes (top 3) and 110 top ten finishes.
He finished second in the downhill standings in 2002 and 2006, and third in 1997 and 2001. His best finish in the overall standings was fifth in 2005.
Strobl is of a handful of racers to have twice won the Hahnenkamm downhill at Kitzbühel (1997 and 2000). He still holds the record time for finishing the full Streif course in 1:51.58, an average speed of 66.4 mph (106.9 km/h), set in 1997. Strobl retired from international competition at age 34, at the conclusion of the 2007 season.
In his final race on 15 March 2007, Strobl descended the Lenzerheide super-G course dressed as Mozart. [4] [5]

Carole Montillet-Carles is a French World Cup alpine ski racer and Olympic gold medalist.
Hermann Maier is an Austrian former World Cup champion alpine ski racer and Olympic gold medalist. Nicknamed the "Herminator", Maier ranks among the greatest alpine ski racers in history, with four overall World Cup titles, two Olympic gold medals, and three World Championship titles. His 54 World Cup race victories – 24 super-G, 15 downhills, 14 giant slaloms, and 1 combined – rank third on the men's all-time list behind Ingemar Stenmark's 86 victories and Marcel Hirscher's 67 victories. Until 2023 he held the record for the most points in one season by a male alpine skier, with 2000 points from the 2000 season. From 2000–2013 he also held the title of most points in one season by any alpine skier, until Tina Maze scored 2414 points in the 2013 season.

Thomas Sven Moe is a former World Cup alpine ski racer from the United States. An Olympic gold and silver medalist in 1994, he specialized in the speed events of downhill and super G.
Aksel Lund Svindal is a Norwegian former World Cup alpine ski racer. Born in Lørenskog in Akershus county, Svindal is a two-time overall World Cup champion, an Olympic gold medalist in super-G at the 2010 Winter Olympics and in downhill at the 2018 Winter Olympics, and a five-time World Champion in downhill, giant slalom, and super combined. With his victory in the downhill in 2013, Svindal became the first male alpine racer to win titles in four consecutive world championships.
Peter Müller is a former World Cup alpine ski racer from Switzerland.
Atle Skårdal is a Norwegian former World Cup alpine ski racer in the speed events of Downhill and Super-G. Since 2012, he is FIS racing director for women races, as successor of Kurt Hoch. A two-time world champion in the Super-G in 1996 and 1997, he was also the World Cup champion in Super-G in 1996. Skårdal competed at the 1988 and 1994 Winter Olympics, with a 6th place in the 1994 Super G his best finish.
Günther Mader is a former alpine ski racer and Olympic medalist from Austria. Born in Matrei am Brenner, Tyrol, he is one of only five men to have won World Cup races in all five alpine disciplines.

Kjetil Jansrud is a Norwegian former World Cup alpine ski racer and Olympic champion. He competed in all alpine disciplines apart from slalom, and his best event was the giant slalom where he has six World Cup podiums and an Olympic silver medal. Since 2012, he had concentrated on the speed events, where all but two of his World Cup victories had come. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, he won the super-G and placed third in the downhill. At the World Championships in 2019 at Åre, Jansrud won gold in the downhill.
Christina Weirather is a retired Liechtensteiner World Cup alpine ski racer. She won a bronze medal in Super-G for Liechtenstein at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
