Mizoram Law College is the only law college in the entire state of Mizoram.

History

Mizoram Law College was established in 1983. Prior to its amalgamation with Liandingpuia Law College in 2004, [1] the college existed as Aizawl Law College. The college was upgraded to deficit status in 2006 and got itself affiliated to Mizoram university. At present, it is located in Luangmual locality of Aizawl. [2] MLC is also recognized under section 2(f)of UGC Act 1956. It is also affiliated to the Bar council of India.

At present, the college offers LL.B three years unitary course. [3] The semester system has also been introduced from the current session 2010–2011. A team of dedicated 9 lecturers, both full-time and part-time, is imparting legal knowledge to hundreds of students every year. At present there are 293 students with 298 students who have completed their studies. [4]

Mizoram University Central University in North Eastern State of India

Mizoram University is a central university under the University Grants Commission, Government of India, and was established on 2 July 2001, by the Mizoram University Act (2000) of the Parliament of India. The President of India is the official Visitor, and the Governor of Mizoram acts as the Chief Rector as per Mizoram University (Amendment) Bill, 2007. According to the Act, the objectives of the university are "to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit, to make provisions for integrated courses in humanities, natural and physical sciences, social sciences, forestry and other allied disciplines in the educational programmes of the University; to take appropriate measures for promoting innovations in teaching-disciplinary studies and research; to educate and train man-power in the development of the state of Mizoram; and to pay special attention to the improvement of the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people of that State, their intellectual, academic and cultural development". Keeping these objectives in view, Mizoram University has embarked on various programmes for academic and administrative development.

Government Aizawl College

Aizawl College is a college in Mizoram, India. It is accredited with B Grade by NAAC and has 445 students currently studying in the college.

Government T. Romana College

Government T. Romana College is a degree college affiliated to Mizoram University, located in Republic Vengthlang, Aizawl, Mizoram, India. The College was established in 1992 as a private institution, upgraded to grant-in-aid status in 2003 and provincialised in 2008.It is graded B by NAAC.

Government Champhai College

The Government Champhai College, Champhai, Mizoram was established originally as a private college in 1971 by the philanthropists of Champhai town and neighboring villages. ZMC is expected to meet the growing demand of Doctors in Mizoram.

Government Aizawl North College

Government Aizawl North College is an educational institution located in Ramhlun Venglai, the northern part of Aizawl, Mizoram. The college is affiliated with Mizoram University As of 2014, it has 1120 students. The college's principal is Mr. Vanlalduha. The College at present has 1,309 students, 28 teachers and 12 non-teaching staff.

Aizawl Capital in Mizoram, India
