Elko County is a county in the northeastern corner of Nevada, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 48,818. Its county seat is Elko. The county was established on March 5, 1869, from Lander County.
West Wendover is a small city in Elko County, Nevada, United States. The population was 4,410 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Elko micropolitan area. West Wendover is located on the eastern border of Nevada and the western edge of the Great Salt Lake Desert and is contiguous with Wendover, Utah, with which it is sometimes confused. It is home to five casinos which attract many visitors from neighboring Utah, where gambling is illegal. Interstate 80 runs just north of the cities, while Interstate 80 Business runs through the two cities.
Ruby Dome is the highest mountain in both the Ruby Mountains and Elko County, in Nevada, United States. It is the twenty-seventh-highest mountain in the state, and also ranks as the thirteenth-most topographically prominent peak in the state. The peak is located about 21 miles (34 km) southeast of the city of Elko within the Ruby Mountains Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. The mountain rises from a base elevation of about 6,000 feet (1,800 m) to a height of 11,387 feet (3,471 m). It is the highest mountain for over 90 miles in all directions.
Elliott Knob is one of the highest mountains in the northern portions of the U.S. state of Virginia. At 4,463 ft (1,360 m), the peak is located on the ridge known as Great North Mountain. A subpeak known simply as "Hogback" is located 0.5 mi (0.80 km) to the southwest. A small, naturally growing stand of red spruce trees is on the summit, and the upper slopes also have yellow birch and sugar maple, indicating that the altitude is just high enough to support tree species normally found hundreds of miles to the north. Otherwise oak and hickory trees are the most common types found on the mountain. The mountain is entirely within George Washington and Jefferson National Forests.
Hole in the Mountain Peak is the highest mountain in the East Humboldt Range in Elko County, Nevada, United States. It is the thirty-fifth highest mountain in the state, and also ranks as the eleventh-most topographically prominent peak in the state. It is located within the East Humboldt Wilderness of the Humboldt–Toiyabe National Forest and is 11,311 feet (3,448 m) high. The peak is 35 miles (56 km) east of Elko and 14 miles (23 km) southwest of Wells, making it a rather prominent feature of the drive along Interstate 80 in Elko County. The U.S. Board on Geographic Names lists two variant names, Mount Bonpland and Mount Bonplant.

Spruce Mountain is a mountain in Elko County, Nevada, United States. It was named from the spruce timber near the summit. Spruce Mountain ranks twenty-fifth among the most topographically prominent peaks in the state. The summit is at 10,267 feet (3,129 m). Spruce Mountain is on a northeast–southwest trending ridge with a parallel Spruce Ridge to the northwest. To the east, a low section of hills connects the mountain to the south end of the Pequop Mountains. US Route 93 passes the southwest end of the mountain. The peak is on public land administered by the Bureau of Land Management and thus has no access restrictions.

State Route 225 is a state highway in Elko County, Nevada, United States. Known as the Mountain City Highway, it connects the city of Elko to the town of Owyhee near the southwestern Idaho border via Mountain City. The route provides connections to Mountain Home, Idaho and Interstate 84 via Idaho State Highway 51.
Snow Lake Peak is the fifth-highest named mountain of the Ruby Mountains and the seventh-highest in Elko County, in Nevada, United States. It is the forty-second-highest mountain in the state. It rises from the head of Box Canyon, is part of the headwall of Thomas Canyon, and is a prominent part of the west wall of Lamoille Canyon above Lamoille and Dollar Lakes. The peak is located within the Ruby Mountains Wilderness of the Ruby Mountains Ranger District in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest.
Reddish Knob of Shenandoah Mountain is one of the highest points in Virginia, rising 4,397 feet (1,340 m). A narrow, paved road reaches the summit from Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Humboldt Peak is the southernmost high summit in the East Humboldt Range of Elko County in northeastern Nevada. To the west are First and Second Boulder Canyons, to the south is Pole Canyon and Secret Pass, and to the east is the South Fork of Steele Creek and Clover Valley. The summit is the end of a high crest running almost 10 miles (16 km) to the north, and the beginning of a slow descent to Ruby Valley to the southeast. The summit, the fourth highest peak in the range, is located about 16 miles (26 km) southwest of the community of Wells. The mountain is in the East Humboldt Wilderness and Humboldt National Forest.
Mount Gilbert is the sixth-highest named mountain of the Ruby Mountains and the eighth-highest in Elko County, in Nevada, United States. It is the forty-third-highest mountain in the state. The peak is a spectacular part of the view from State Route 227 in Lamoille Valley, rising over 5,300 feet (1,620 m) above the valley floor at Lamoille. It rises from the head of Seitz Canyon, and is part of the west wall of Right Fork Canyon. The summit is a high glacial horn, located about 22 miles (35 km) southeast of the community of Elko within the Ruby Mountains Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest.
Grindstone 100 miler is an annual 100 mile long ultramarathon that takes place on trails in Virginia's Allegheny Mountains, usually the first weekend of October. The race starts at Camp Shenandoah, a local camp of the Boy Scouts of America. Beginning at Camp Shenandoah, this out-n-back course ascends and descends Little North Mountain before climbing over 2400 ft (740m) in 4 miles (6.4km) to the summit of Elliott Knob. The course then proceeds north following the ridgeline of the Great North Mountain range, crossing over to and following the Wild Oak Trail before continuing north to the summit of Reddish Knob. Runners continue north to Briery Branch Gap before retracing their steps back along the course to Camp Shenandoah. Runners climb a cumulative total of 23,200 feet (7,140m) and descend a total of 23,200 feet (7,140m) on mountain trails before reaching the finish.

Owned by Baltimore-based Cunningham Broadcasting, it is operated under joint sales and shared services agreements (JSA/SSA) by the Sinclair Broadcast Group. This effectively makes KENV an owned-and-operated station of the Sinclair-owned TBD network. KENV's studios are located on the campus of Great Basin College on Chilton Circle in Elko, and its transmitter is located on Grindstone Mountain.
Matterhorn is the highest mountain in the Jarbidge Mountains of northern Elko County, Nevada, United States. It is the fifteenth-most topographically prominent peak in the state. The summit is located in the Jarbidge Wilderness, which is administered by the Jarbidge Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Its name is derived from the Matterhorn in the Alps of Europe, due mainly to the cliffs located immediately adjacent to the summit on the north and northeast.

Twin Peaks are a pair of mountain peaks in the Adobe Range of Elko County, in Nevada, United States. The East Twin is slightly higher than the West Twin. Both summits contains several radio towers.
Mount Tuscarora is a mountain in the Southern Tier of New York. It is located within Allegany State Park in Coldspring, Cattaraugus County. In 1928, a 60-foot-tall (18 m) steel fire lookout tower was built on the mountain. The tower remains on the mountain but needs to be restored.
