Helmut Bradl (born November 17, 1961) is a German former professional Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. He raced exclusively in the 250 class. His best year was in 1991 when he won 5 races on a Honda and ended the season ranked second after a tight points battle with Luca Cadalora. [1] His son Stefan Bradl, won the 2011 Moto2 World Championship.

Grand Prix motorcycle racing premier championship of motorcycle road racing

Grand Prix motorcycle racing refers to the premier class of motorcycle road racing events held on road circuits sanctioned by FIM. Independent motorcycle racing events have been held since the start of the twentieth century and large national events were often given the title Grand Prix, The foundation of a recognised international governing body for motorcycle sport, the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme in 1949 provided the opportunity to coordinate rules and regulations in order that selected events could count towards official World Championships as FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix. It is the oldest established motorsport world championship.

Dirk Raudies is a German former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer, specialising in 125cc. Born in Biberach an der Riß, Germany, his greatest success on the racetrack came in 1993 when he won the 125cc Grand Prix world championship on a Honda RS125R.

Manfred Herweh is a former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer from Germany. He had his best year in 1984 when he won four races riding a Rotax-powered Real 250cc motorcycle. Herweh ended the season in second place behind Christian Sarron. He retired after the 1989 season.

Loris Reggiani Italian motorcycle racer

Loris Reggiani is an Italian former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer who competed for the Aprilia factory racing team. His best years were in 1981, when he won two races in the 125 class, finishing the season in second place behind Angel Nieto, and in 1992 in the 250 class, when he again won two races and finishing in second place again, this time to Luca Cadalora. Reggiani was the first rider to win a Grand Prix for the Aprilia factory when he won the 1987 San Marino Grand Prix. In 1994, Reggiani moved up to the 500cc class aboard a new bike from Aprilia with a V-twin, 250cc engine that had been enlarged to 380cc in hopes of taking advantage of the bike's lightweight and agility against their more powerful competition. In spite of development problems, Reggiani managed a 10th place in the 1995 season. He retired from competition after the 1995 season. He won a total of 8 Grands Prix during his career.

Jean-Philippe Ruggia French motorcycle racer

Jean-Philippe Ruggia is a former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer from France. His best year was in 1995 when he finished in fifth place in the 250cc world championship. He won two races in 1993 riding for Aprilia and ended the season ranked sixth. He was also moderately successful in the 500cc class, finishing 8th overall in 1990. He is also the first rider known to use the elbow down riding style, years before Marc Márquez popularized the riding style in Grand Prix racing.

Dominique Sarron French motorcycle racer

Dominique Sarron is a former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer from France. His best year was in 1986 when he won the Brazilian Grand Prix and finished in third place in the 250cc world championship behind Carlos Lavado and Sito Pons. He won two races in 1988 riding for Honda and ended the season ranked fourth.

Noboru Ueda Japanese motorcylce racer

Noboru "Nobby" Ueda is a former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. He was exclusively a 125 class rider. Ueda began his Grand Prix career with a win in his inaugural race at the 1991 Japanese Grand Prix. His best seasons were in 1994, when he finished second in the 125cc world championship behind Kazuto Sakata and in 1997, when he finished second behind Valentino Rossi. After a twelve-year career in Grand Prix competition, he announced his retirement at the end of the 2002 season, citing the need to let his body recuperate after several racing injuries. Ueda won 13 Grand Prix races during his career. He now runs his own team known as Team Nobby, which competes in the All Japan Road Race Championship in the J-GP3 class.

Team LCR

Team LCR is a motorcycle racing team currently competing in the MotoGP World Championship under the name LCR Honda. The team was founded in 1996 by Italian rider Lucio Cecchinello. In 2015, they were represented by British rider Cal Crutchlow on a factory-specification Honda RC213V bike, and Australian rookie Jack Miller, riding an open-specification Honda RC213V-RS. However, the team downgraded to a single bike for Crutchlow in 2016, as Miller moved to the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Team.

Marc Márquez Alentà is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle road racer and one of the most successful motorcycle racers of all time with seven Grand Prix world championships to his name - five of which are in the premier MotoGP class. Márquez races for Honda's factory team since his MotoGP debut in 2013. He is nicknamed the 'Ant of Cervera' worldwide and 'el tro de Cervera' locally in his hometown, meaning the 'Thunder of Cervera'. He is one of four riders to have won world championship titles in three different categories, after Mike Hailwood, Phil Read and Valentino Rossi. Marquez is often considered one of the greatest innovators of modern MotoGP racing, due to his comparatively exaggerated cornering technique of leaning so far over the bike he seems to be “in constant danger of sliding out”.

2013 United States motorcycle Grand Prix

The 2013 United States motorcycle Grand Prix was the ninth round of the 2013 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season, and the second of three races in the 2013 season to take place in the United States of America. It was held on 21 July at the Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California. Like always, only a MotoGP class race was held at Laguna Seca.
