Hisham bin Haji Mohd Hanifah (born May 1967) [1] or sometimes spelled Hisyam, [2] is a Bruneian politician and civil servant from who was previously appointed as the Deputy Minister of Finance from 2015 to 2018, alongside Amin Liew Abdullah. [3]
Hisham was born in May 1967. [4] In 1991, he received his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Accounting from Lancashire Polytechnic in the United Kingdom. Following his August 1991 enlistment in the government, he has held a number of positions. They included an accountant from the Ministry of Finance's Deputy Permanent Secretary, an accountant from the Revenue Division, an accountant from the Treasury Department, and an assistant director of the budget division. He served as the Ministry of Finance's Permanent Secretary (Policy and Investment) before taking on his current role. [5]
Hisham began serving as the Deputy Minister of Finance on 22 October 2015. [5] [2] He was present in the Malaysian Food Festival, which was organised by Royal Brunei Catering (RBC) and Malaysian Tourism from 6 April to 6 May 2017. [6] After ending his tenure on 30 January 2018, [7] he was appointed as the permanent secretary (fiscal). [8]
Hisham holds positions as a committee or board member in various organisations, including the National Security Committee, Institut Teknologi Brunei, Semaun Holdings, Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB), [9] Khazanah Satu, Royal Brunei Airlines from 2008 to 2018 (RBA). [4] Additionally, he was the chairman of other organisations including RBC, RBA Golf Club, Mulaut Abattoir, Telekom Brunei (Telbru), Makan Ceria, National Syariah Financial Supervisory Board, and the deputy chairman of the investment committee of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation. The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA or MoRA; Malay: Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama, KHEU) is a cabinet-level ministry in the government of Brunei which is responsible for the propagation of Islam and its upholding as the state religion, as well as oversees the Islamic religious education in the country. The Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien College (SOASC), natively known as Maktab Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien (MSOAS), is a government boys' secondary school in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei. It is the first secondary school in the country. The school is also one of the only three boys' secondary schools nationwide, with the other two being Muda Hashim Secondary School and Ma'had Islam Brunei. The school provides five years of secondary education leading up to GCE 'O' Level and IGCSE qualification.
Mustappa bin Haji Sirat is a diplomat and politician in the Government of Brunei. He took office as the Minister of Communications from 2015 to 2018 and also as the Deputy Minister of Defence.
Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof is a Bruneian nobleman, military officer, and politician, who currently serves as a Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Defence II. He is a former member of the Legislative Council of Brunei, and previously served as the Minister of Defence II from 2018 to 2022, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports from 2015 to 2018, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), and Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF).
The Ministry of Home Affairs is a cabinet-level ministry in the government of Brunei which is responsible for the country's administrative divisions, municipal areas, immigration, labour, fire and rescue services, prison and rehabilitation institutions, and national disaster management. It was established immediately upon Brunei's independence on 1 January 1984. It is currently led by a minister and the incumbent is Ahmaddin Rahman, who took office since 7 June 2022. The ministry is headquartered in Bandar Seri Begawan.
The Ministry of Defence Brunei Darussalam, officially abbreviated as MinDef, is a cabinet-level ministry of the Government of Brunei. It is responsible for the national security and its military forces within the sultanate of Brunei Darussalam; the latter collectively known as the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF); Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei, (ABDB). MinDef is Brunei's ministry of defence; and was established on 1 January 1984, when Brunei Darussalam achieved independence from the United Kingdom. The Ministry of Defence leadership presently consists of a minister ; its incumbent is the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, who is also the Supreme Commander of the RBAF / ABDB. A deputy minister is second-in-command at the Ministry of Defence.

The Prime Minister's Office is the leading and largest cabinet-level ministry in the government of Brunei. It serves as the immediate office of the country's prime minister, as well as oversees several key government departments. Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman is the incumbent Minister of Home Affairs (MOHA) in Brunei since 2022, the former Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (MoFE), and the chairman of both Royal Brunei Technical Services (RBTS) and Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB). Pengiran Mohammad bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman, pen name Zairis M.S., is a Bruneian politician and writer in the Government of Brunei whole formerly took office as the second Minister of Religious Affairs from 2010 to 2015, and Deputy Minister of Education from 2005 to 2010.
Pengiran Zety Sufina binti Pengiran Haji Sani is a Bruneian politician who currently serves as the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy since 2022. Additionally, she is the co-chair of the Centre of Strategic and Policy Studies, deputy co-chairman of Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB), Chairman of Ghanim International Corporation, and Director of Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA) from 2021 to 2023. Dato Paduka Haji Malai Ahmad Murad bin Syed Haji Mashhor (1943–2004) was a Brunei diplomat who became the ambassador to the Philippines from 1993 to 1996, Japan from 1997 to 2001, United Arab Emirates from 2001 to 2004, and the high commissioner to Australia from 1996 to 1997.
Mohd Riza bin Haji Mohd Yunos (born May 1967) is a politician and civil servant from Brunei who is the incumbent Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) since 2022. Additionally, he is also the deputy chairman of Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA), and among the directors of Darussalam Assets.
