Hurricane Venus is the sixth Korean language studio album (fourteenth overall) by South Korean singer BoA,released on August 2,2010,by SM Entertainment,to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the singer's career. It is BoA's first major Korean-language release since the repackage version of Girls on Top in 2005,and subsequently her second major release in a year following her seventh Japanese album Identity in February 2010. A dominant electro-pop and R&B record,the album was executively produced by her label's founder Lee Soo-man,while seeing BoA co-writing and composing along with several songwriters and production teams,namely Hitchhiker,Kenzie,Yoo Young-jin,Erik Lidbom,Anne Judith Wik,Martin Hansen,Kim Jong-wan,Kim Dong-ryul,Lindy Robbins,Toby Gad,and more. Under the repackage title Copy &Paste,the album was re-released on September 27,2010,nearly two months after its original release.
In March 2010,SM Entertainment announced that BoA was to release a new Korean-language album—her first since 2005—to commemorate the tenth anniversary of her 2000 debut. BoA was said to be in the process of selecting songs for the album,and would return to South Korea following the completion of her Japanese tour to promote Identity in April. [2] [3]
The music video for "Game" was released to various websites on the weekend of July 24–25, [4] while the tracks for both "Game" and "Yeop Saram (Stand By)" (Korean :옆사람;"The Person Next to Me") were released on July 28. [5] "Game" entered the Gaon weekly singles chart at number eleven. [6]
A music video for the album's title track has been filmed in 3-D by Pace HD—who worked on the 2009 film Avatar —and Samsung Electronics. [7] [8] The song "Hurricane Venus" was released ahead of the album on August 2. [9] Hurricane Venus was released in South Korea on August 5,2010.
Following its release the album was ranked number one on the Hanteo album sales chart,and in the top five of other music charts such as Naver and Soribada. The album is also due to be released in other Asian countries,including Thailand,the Philippines (not yet released as of this time in the country),China,Indonesia and Japan. [10]
On August 6,BoA performed "Hurricane Venus" and "Dangerous" on the Korean television programme Music Bank . [10] On the same day,Hurricane Venus was the third most talked about topic on the social networking site Twitter. [11] The album sold 44,745 units in the first ten days of its release and ranked first in the month of August sales with 54,659 units.[ citation needed ] By the end of the year Hurricane Venus sold 55,776 units making it the 22nd best selling album in South Korea for 2010. "Romance",described as a "pop jazz ballad",was arranged by jazz pianist Song Young-joo. "Don't Know What to Say" is a collaboration with BoA's brother Kwon Soon-hwon,a classical pianist. [13] For two of the album's highly promoted tracks,"Dangerous" and "Adrenaline",BoA again teamed up with Danish producer Thomas Troelsen,who also produced her American debut single,"Eat You Up",in 2008.
A repackaged version of the album was released on September 27,2010. [14] Retitled Copy &Paste, [15] the repackaged album included two new songs,"Copy &Paste" and "보고싶더라(I'm OK)". [14] A teaser video for the album unveiled on September 20,and BoA promoted the album with a performance on Music Bank on September 24. [15]
"Copy &Paste" is the third and final single released from BoA's sixth album effort. On September 19 BoA released the official teaser to the upcoming single,followed by an official digital single release on September 23. The following day promotions started for the single on television shows such as Music Bank , Show! Music Core and Inkigayo . The official music video was released on September 28.[ citation needed ]

Kwon Bo-ah, known professionally as BoA, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and actress often called the "Queen of K-pop".
4Minute was a South Korean girl group formed by Cube Entertainment, consisting of members Jihyun, Gayoon, Jiyoon, Hyuna and Sohyun. The group was known for its edgy dance-pop style and "girl crush" image that attracted a large female fan base.
Jung Yong-hwa, also known mononymously as Yonghwa, is a South Korean singer, musician and actor. He is the leader, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the rock band CNBLUE. Jung made his television debut in You're Beautiful (2009), and has since starred in television dramas Heartstrings (2011), Marry Him If You Dare (2013), The Three Musketeers (2014), The Package (2017) and Sell Your Haunted House (2021). On the music front, Jung also made his solo debut with the album One Fine Day in 2015.

Prosecutor Princess is a 2010 South Korean television series starring Kim So-yeon, Park Si-hoo, Han Jung-soo and Choi Song-hyun. It aired on SBS from March 31 to May 20, 2010, on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21:55 for 16 episodes.

It is the first album with ten out of the original 13 members to take part, also marking the first album not to feature all active members. Sungkyunkwan Scandal is a South Korean historical drama starring Park Yoo-chun, Park Min-young, Song Joong-ki, and Yoo Ah-in. Directed by Kim Won-seok and written by Kim Tae-hee, it is based on Jung Eun-gwol's bestselling 2007 novel The Lives of Sungkyunkwan Confucian Scholars. It aired on KBS2 from August 30 to November 2, 2010 on Mondays and Tuesdays at 21:55 for 20 episodes.
GD&TOP is the debut album of South Korean hip-hop duo GD & TOP, members of Big Bang. Released on December 24, 2010, the album marks the first official collaboration between the two artists. The duo promoted the album extensively, including a worldwide premiere showcase and numerous performances. Three singles were released for promotion: "High High", "Oh Yeah", and "Knockout". While "High High" went on to become a chart-topper, the latter two singles peaked at number 2 and 3 respectively.
Mr. Simple is the fifth studio album by the South Korean boy band Super Junior. It was released on 3 August 2011, by SM Entertainment, distributed by KMP Holdings and digitally release on 2 August. On 19 September 2011, a repackaged edition was released, re-titled A-Cha. It features four new tracks including title track "A-Cha" and "Superman" which was previously released in version B only. This is the group's second album that features ten of the original 13 members and the first being their previous album, Bonamana (2010).
Spica was a South Korean girl group formed in 2012 under B2M Entertainment. The group consists of Kim Bo-a, Park Si-hyun, Park Na-rae, Yang Ji-won and Kim Bo-hyung. Their pre-debut single "Doggedly" was released on January 10, 2012, followed by their debut mini-album, Russian Roulette, on February 8, 2012. They officially disbanded on February 6, 2017, though Bohyung has confirmed a possible reunion in the future.
The Return is the tenth studio album of South Korean boy band Shinhwa, in commemoration of their 14th anniversary. It was released on 23 March 2012 by Shinhwa Company and distributed by CJ E&M Music. It marked the group's comeback to the music industry after a four-year hiatus, since the release of Volume 9 in 2008, as the band members served individual mandatory military services.
Only One is the seventh Korean studio album by South Korean recording artist BoA. It was released through SM Entertainment on July 22, 2012. The record features songwriting contributions from various regional and international musicians, including Miriam and Olivia Nervo, SM composer Kenzie, and Kim Tae-sung. The single "One Dream" was first released as a collaboration with Henry Lau and Key for the audition show K-pop Star in March 2012, while the titular single "Only One" and "The Shadow" were promoted after the release of the album.
Again is the fifth extended play by South Korean girl group T-ara, It was released on October 10, 2013 by Core Contents Media. It marked their first release with the original line-up following member Lee Areum’s departure from the group. It is also the first official release without Ryu Hwayoung's vocals being featured.
Lim Sung-bin, better known by the stage name Beenzino (빈지노), is a South Korean rapper. His stage name is a play on that of Boston rapper Benzino, combined with "빈" from his birth name. Beenzino first gained popularity through the duo Jazzyfact, which he formed with Shimmy Twice in 2008. And he made his first official public appearance at Dok2's Hustle Real Hard Concert on June 5, 2011, and has since released three solo albums, as well as other works in collaboration with hip hop producers Primary and Shimmy Twice, and as the duo Hot Clip with South Korean rapper Beatbox DG. He is noted for his melodic style of rapping.
Mamacita is the seventh Korean studio album of South Korean boy band Super Junior. It was released on September 1, 2014, by SM Entertainment and was released online on August 29, 2014. This is their first Korean album since Sexy, Free & Single was released in 2012. On October 16, 2014, it was announced that a special version of the album, named This is Love, would be released on October 27, 2014.
Home is the second Korean studio album by South Korean singer-songwriter Roy Kim, released and distributed on October 8, 2014 through CJ E&M Music. The album features nine tracks in total, and produced a top-five hit which shares the same name as the title of the album. As of July 2016, Home has sold over 12,000 physical copies and about 800,000 individual track downloads in Kim's native country.
Chapter 8 is the eighth studio album by South Korean pop music group g.o.d. It was released in July 2014 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their debut and mark their reunion as a five-man group after nearly a decade of hiatus. The repackaged edition was released in October and features an additional CD containing a new single "Wind" (바람). Chapter 8 was awarded Album of the Year at the 2014 Melon Music Awards.

Forgive Me is the third extended play by South Korean singer BoA. It was released by SM Entertainment on November 22, 2022, and contains six tracks, including the lead single of the same name.
