Idol 2019 was the fifteenth season of the Swedish Idol series. [1] [2]

It was confirmed on the 30 November 2018 semifinal of Idol 2018, that the series would return again on TV4. [3]

New to this season

Something new to this season in the weekly finals was that the jury could use a lifeline that meant they could save an act who'd been eliminated from the competition a particular week, but they could only use this once and only during the first seven weeks. [4] In the end, the jury did not enact the lifeline.

Australian Survivor is an Australian adventure reality game show based on the international Survivor format. Following the premise of other versions of the Survivor format, the show features a group of contestants, referred to as "castaways" as they are marooned in an isolated location. The castaways must provide food, water, fire, and shelter for themselves. The contestants compete in various challenges for rewards and immunity from elimination. TV4 is a Swedish free-to-air television network owned by TV4 AB, a subsidiary of the TV4 Media AB. It started broadcasting by satellite in 1990 and, since 1992, on terrestrial television. In 1994, TV4 became the largest channel and remained so for a number of years. The two channels of Sveriges Television (SVT) lost more and more viewers for a couple of years. After making schedule changes in 2001, SVT1 had practically the same numbers of viewers as TV4. From 2004 to 2019, the TV4 Group was a fully active member of the European Broadcasting Union.

Idol is a Swedish reality-competition talent show broadcast on TV4. It first appeared in August 2004, and became one of the most popular shows on Swedish television. Part of the Idols franchise, it originated from the reality program Pop Idol created by British entertainment executive Simon Fuller, which was first aired in 2001 in the United Kingdom.

Måns Petter Albert Sahlén Zelmerlöw is a Swedish pop singer and television presenter. He took part in Idol 2005, eventually finishing fifth, won the first season of Let's Dance, and scored a hit with his 2007 song "Cara Mia", which was his entry in that year's Melodifestivalen. Zelmerlöw was the host of Allsång på Skansen from 2011 to 2013. He participated in Melodifestivalen in 2007, 2009 and won in 2015. Alice Cecilia Linh Svensson is a Vietnamese-born Swedish singer. Idol 2009 was the sixth season of the Swedish idol series and was broadcast by TV 4. The jury, identical to the previous year, consisted of Anders Bagge, Laila Bagge and Andreas Carlsson. Så mycket bättre is a Swedish reality television show broadcast on TV4. The basic premise is that each participating musician performs their own version of a well-known song by another artist, with each episode focusing on every participant performing a different song by the same artist. The musicians spend eight days together at a hotel in Gotland, where they re-interpret the songs in their own styles.

Idol 2013 was the Swedish Idol series' ninth season which premiered on August 19, 2013. and ended on December 6, 2013. In January 2013, TV4 confirmed that the Idol series would be returning after a year's hiatus after Idol 2011.

Ellen Linnea Petrea Henriksson is a Swedish singer and songwriter who participated in Idol 2010 in which she placed fourth. As of April 2018, she is also the lead singer of the jazz band Prylf. Idol 2015 is the eleventh season of the Swedish Idol series, which began on 17 August 2015 and ended with the final on 4 December 2015. This was the last season with the current jury which consisted of Laila Bagge, Anders Bagge and Alexander Bard. Martin Almgren won the competition, Amanda Winberg became the runner-up and Simon Zion came third.

Idol 2016 is the twelfth season of the Swedish Idol series. This is the first year with a new jury consisting of Fredrik Kempe, Nikki Amini and Quincy Delight Jones III. Presenter of the show is as previous Pär Lernström. The show is broadcast on TV4.

Hanna Alma Beata Ferm is a Swedish singer. She competed in Idol 2017, where she placed second.

William Samuel Segerdahl, is a Swedish singer. He participated in Idol 2018 which was broadcast on TV4. He placed in shared third place with Bragi Bergsson in the series semifinal on 30 November 2018. In 2017, Segerdahl released the songs "U-Turn" and "Trying". Since his participation in Idol, Segerdahl has released a handful of singles: "Problem", "Dansgolv", "Tåg", and "Ingenting Jag Säger Hjälper Nu", all of which were released during 2019. "Problem" reached number 3 on the Swedish Heatseeker Chart. In 2020, he has as of 29 April, released the singles "Det Kanske Inte är Så Farligt?" and "Aldrig".

Victor Leksell is a Swedish singer from Torslanda. Since his first releases in 2018, his most successful single was released in 2020, called "Svag". The song peaked at number one on the Swedish Singles Chart and it was also certified nonuple platinum in the country. On 17 June 2020, Leksell released his debut studio album, Fånga mig när jag faller. It peaked at number 1 in Sweden and made it to number 3 in Norway.

Dao Keela Antonia Molander Di Ponziano, also known as Dao Di Ponziano and Dao Di Ponziano Molander is a Swedish singer and actress.

Idol 2020 was the sixteenth season of the Swedish Idol series. Like earlier seasons, the season was broadcast on TV4. New for this year is that one person got to audition for this season already during the final of Idol 2019 in Globen, Rebecka Assio made it through to the final audition in Stockholm.

Idol 2021 was the seventeenth season of the Swedish Idol series. The show was broadcast on TV4 and starts on 23 August 2021. Judge member Nikki Amini left the show after the sixteenth season.
