Independent Bonn International School (IBIS) is the oldest international school [1] located in Bonn, Germany.
IBIS was founded in 1963 by a group of parents and for many years was called the British Embassy Preparatory School (BEPS). When many of the embassies moved to Berlin in 1997, the school changed its name to IBIS to reflect the broad international nature of the school.
IBIS is located in Heiderhof, a suburb of Bad Godesberg. [2]
IBIS is inspected regularly by the Independent Schools Inspectorate [3] (ISI), by the Council of British Independent Schools (COBIS), and by the German school authorities. [4] This ensures that the educational standards at IBIS meet both the international and German standards.
Since 2001 IBIS has had the official approval of the German authorities as an "Ersatzschule der Primarstufe". [5] This allows it to prepare children for the German system of education as well as other international destinations.
In 2020, the school became the first in Germany to receive the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools Bronze Award. [6]

The Bonn tramway network forms part of the public transport system in the city Bonn, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, along with the Bonn Stadtbahn with which the tramlines are heavily integrated. The tram network consists of three tram lines which makes Bonn's tramway relatively small, as it comprises only 29.52 kilometres (18.34 mi) of route. The tramway is operated by 24 low-floor tramcars.

King Fahd Academy was a school in Lannesdorf, Bad Godesberg district, Bonn, Germany. The school, with an attached mosque, housing elementary school through high school, opened in 1995. Financed by the King of Saudi Arabia and sponsored by Saudi Arabia, it was named after King Fahd. The school was closed at the end of the 2016/2017 school year, after long-running criticism that it was attracting Islamists to Germany. The school's last director was Ibrahim Al-Megren.

When Bonn was the location of the government of the Federal Republic of Germany, from 1949 to 1990, state receptions were held at the Redoute. Klassische Philharmonie Bonn is a German touring symphony orchestra, based in Bonn, North Rhine-Westphalia. It was founded by Heribert Beissel in 1986, derived from the Chur Cölnisches Orchester that he had founded in 1959 to perform music played originally at the Bonn court of the Electors of Cologne. Beissel conducted the orchestra until his death in 2021. They have regularly played a concert series Wiener Klassik at more than ten concert halls in Germany, and also toured in Europe, the U.S. and Japan.
