Indians in Switzerland are the people who migrated from India to Switzerland. [2] [3] [4] According to the Indian Embassy, The Indian community in Switzerland numbers approximately 24,567 Indians including over 7164 persons of Indian origin, most of whom are professionals, notably the information technology sector, financial services, the pharmaceutical industry and the research and health sector. It is concentrated in Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Baden, Bern and Lausanne in that order. There are about 1000 Indian students studying in Switzerland [3]
The influence of Indian culture can be seen all over Switzerland with a temple in each major city, popularity of Yoga and meditation, and even recognition of Ayurvedic therapies by Swiss health insurance as a complementary treatment.
Chandigarh is a union territory and planned city in northern India, serving as the shared capital of the surrounding states, namely Punjab to the north, west and the south, and Haryana to the east. It is approximately 4 km (2.5 mi) southeast of Chandigarh, 105 km (65 mi) southwest of Shimla, 44 km (27 mi) from Ambala and 259 km (161 mi) northeast of New Delhi, the national capital. It is a part of the Chandigarh capital region or Greater Chandigarh. The Chandigarh-Mohali-Panchkula metropolitan region collectively forms a Chandigarh Tricity, with a combined population of over two million.
The number of Indian students studying outside India rapidly increased by 163% between 1999 and 2006 to reach 145,539 as compared to slower growth of 25% between 2006 and 2013 to reach 181,872, according to an analysis of UNESCO data. As of January 2021, more than 1 million Indian students are studying in 85 countries outside India. More than 50% of Indian students study in North America.

Sibi George is an Indian civil servant of the Indian Foreign Service cadre who is Ambassador of India to Japan. He has previously served as Ambassador of India to Kuwait, Switzerland, the Holy See as well as the Principality of Liechtenstein. He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1993.
